  • "Valo has a baritone vocal range, and is one of the few singers with a 4 octave range in full voice, from F1 to F5" /watch?v=1R0mkw_erGk&feature=related ----at the en is the lowest part, and in the ode to solitude song, is somewhere highest. I don't know so much, but pretty cool vocal range.

  • @childshadow Those are all named in the info box.

  • His range has actually improved and gotten higher now a days. I own all of HIM's albums and I wasn't very sure about "Screamworks" when I first heard "Heartkiller" because it sounded just a little too pop for my taste. But I bought the album and after listening to it all the way through I was just shocked. When he hits those high notes on songs like "Dying Song" you'd think it's a different singer.

  • one word to say: EXCELLENT!

  • the dude can't sing

  • @TheAimlessRoad 1/10 - Boring trolling, trying to be controversial. Try again.

  • Dude I love these videos I can spend hours watching these. My question is......how the hell do you listen to so much music? I always read "this is so and so's highest full voice note", .etc.

  • @reddupo Heh, thank you! I appreciate feedback.

Hmm, what do you mean with that? We've got a community which spares time while finding notes, but I also listen to music really much during a day. I usually consume many albums in one day, depending on what I want to listen to!

  • @GoodGuitarSolos

Oh I didn't know there was a community/"we" working on these. I thought it was just one person. It makes more sense now :) Well anyway, keep up the good work.

  • WOW men, you do an amazing job with this videos, great, o god, i'm fascinated with this video, i wacthed 3 or 4 times

  • my FUCKIN' God ... he's perfect.

  • <3

  • The first time I heard "disarm me with your loneliness" it made me cry :/ especially the ending.

  • Wow! I´m really thankful that you measured his voice – values in cold print ;-) Some people already surmised that Ville´s voice lost capacity. But you have disproved that prophecy of doom. Some of your examples are from the `Rock am Ring´ concert in 2010, as yet his/HIM´s last great performance. I once joked about the low tones of his voice but it´s true and incredible: He´s less than one octave away from infrasound!

  • I want that re recorded it's all tears! Can someone help me?????

  • @Chrisluvslupe Buy And Love Said No UK release.

  • 02:26 <3 love that song!

  • "11. 3:23 - Fantastic low passage from "Venus Doom" trailing down to B1" my favourite part in the whole song, i love the deepness in his voice

  • how can someone dislike this:|?

  • Ville Valo the perfect Baritone :)

  • 00:51 name of this song?????

  • @MafeEv753 The info box has all the song names and notes.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos okay thanksssssssss

  • @MafeEv753

Cradle Of Filth - The Byronic Man

  • Definitely a High Baritone.

  • Ville Valo is My Favorite Singer...anyway how to you "Notw Watch"?

  • @Redsn0wforlife I pitch these notes with a piano, it takes some time to learn properly but it is really interesting.

  • He's a full baritone.

  • your speaking a foreign language to me..but i do love the fact that ppl who know what they are talking about appreciate what i have always appreciated about villes voice..that it is totally unique..and beautiful...lovely video

  • His low notes make me jizz...

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs Hehe, no kidding! :D <3

  • Indeed!

  • This is exactly what I've always wanted to do! I'm no vocal expert but I've always wanted to catagorize the different ways his voice is just amazing. I've always loved this guy's voice because it has amazing range (even just naturally, without fry or falsetto). GREAT video!

  • One of the most interesting voices I've heard. For me it's kind of hard to believe that "Join Me" and "Summer Wine" or "Gone With The Sin" are sung by the same person.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos sorry for bothering you but I wondered :how can you understand if somebody for example ville valo is a low-baritone or a bass, are there specified criterions?

  • @mikyXD1 Based on their timbre and tessitura.

  • amazing voice...i think he's the best

  • He has the warmest, most alluring voice. Just like a steaming thick hot chocolate on a snowy day...

  • This was uploaded on my birthday ^^

Buuuut....DAMN. I love how low his voice is. It's sorrowful and sexy at the same time. Ville Valo is a beautiful creature.

  • wtf this guy chain smokes cigarettes and has a 4 octave modal register range crazy shit

  • @GoodGuitarSolos so how many octaves has he got?

  • @mikyXD1 Incredible 4 octaves in full voice (REALLY rare), very impressive! He also has like 6 octaves in total if his falsetto and fry are counted but the full voice range is the most impressive one.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos This is really insane. Now I have to do some shopping for Ville Valo's music. I think what impresses me the most is his lows. I mean I am a low Baritone as well and am still around half an octave from his lowest. But I can't get near his highest either. This guy is a god.

  • @hermygagala I know, he is a god when it comes to low notes.

I recommend HIM's album Venus Doom, their heaviest and most interesting album musically.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos Thanks I'll put in my order on Amazon today. He really is great well him and the band. But being a vocalist what attracts me to a band is the vocals and how unique they are. I will probably end up buying all of their stuff. I am a music collector. And if it wasn't for you I probably never would have heard of this trully great band and vocalist.

  • @hermygagala It's about time to talk about the man!!! in this conversation..you know who i'm talking about.with all the rspect all of thesesingers who have been analized....about their range.....are like Dan's warm up for a show. This guy expecificaly is reaaaly comicly bad.Noting personal really GGS i respect and admire your hard work to teach something about singing to the world trough the internet Its just a matter of personal taste about this singer.Kinda Paradise Lost...but much worst

  • @beroth77 Did you just call Valo "bad"? He is an incredible singer: great tone, great skills, COLOSSAL vocal range and some of the best lows ever hit. Like him or not, you can't say that he isn't skilled.

  • So F1-F5 is using his full voice? Why is the B0 bracketed?

  • @carnageriot94 Yes, F1-F5 in full voice. B0 is non-modal fry note so it counts towards his non-modal range.

  • Great video! Valo is an amazing singer, the best for me. His voice is SO good! It's unique in every note.

  • dat voice

  • thank you so much for this fantastic video!

  • what about It's All Tears (Acoustic)?

  • @Animur7 He gets down to fryish A1, if I remember right.

  • Ville is my absolute favorite singer and you might've missed a video that shows his excellent high vocals. You should check out Wicked Game live @ Turku 2002, towards the end are some great high notes. :)

  • @GoldenOnyx17 I've actually seen the live performance: Valo goes for some fantastic high notes around mid-5th octave. Damn good singing there.

  • 6:22 what song??

  • @hardyrulez96 It´s from Wicked Game live in Rock am Ring 2010.

  • Yeah, I've noticed that he can sing realllly low and high and both are beautiful!

  • yeah, the scream from the heartless is from june hyde, same girl who sings their cover of don't fear the reaper, just saying.

  • @marianalico Yes, I was really unsure about that note. Thanks for telling though.

  • I have a question: At 10:25 in the description, you say that he slides up to an F5 in live performance. Is that F5 full? That means he has spanned F1-F5....Live? O.o

  • @TheRockLover1000 That note is weird, I could go either way with it. But yeah, Valo has showcased (at least) F1-E5 live, insane...

  • Possibly your best video! Great Singer with Great Highs and Lows! :D

  • I think ya went a little overboard with starting low notes all the way up at G2! Whatever, though. Good video and all that.

  • muy bien aunque venus doom tambienbe tiene otros temas para analizar bajos de ville como CYANIDE SUN y SONG OR SUICIDE
