  • Great video and good choice of music. I've done small patches of fresh ice in Alberta and Vermont...and the velvety smoothness is the best. Some comments express fearful danger, but that ice was way thick enough (it can flex quite a bit, too). But, you do gulp a few times when it makes that cracking sound and paralyzes you in place. Also, always good to carry two sharp screwdrivers to claw away from wet, slippery, broken ice.

  • so irresponsible. at least put a disclaimer so kids won't try and do this.if you fell in that lake you would've died in less then 30 min.

  • @LastRqss its called natural selection

Are you kdding me? That's got to be the most funnest thing to do and probably a high amount of freedom is achieved by it. You seem to underestimate the strength of ice at that temperature, which is about as strong as concrete.

  • what the fuck no skate guards

  • Wow thats sick but what a duster

  • Awesome video!

  • I so would not do that

Frozen water and me do not go....

  • You seem to enjoy wonderful view and speed very mush...but is it a little danger? Anyway, the last scene made me laugh!

  • bad skaters

  • did you get some video of mud lake? It would have been the perfect day for crust!!!

  • Hey Ray

This is a really cool video---love the colour of the ice. Well done. Carrot Pond is truly an awesome spot. I was there several times last November. The only thing as good as early season pond skating is late season crust skiing, and tomorrow (May 1st) should be fantastic in the Mud Lake area. Skate on dude!

  • Check out ice thickness at 1:40 - about 4 inches (10 cm???) It's definitely freaky when the ice is that thin - and it cracks a lot...but it's safe at that thickness

  • cool vid, arent u worried about the ice cracking and u faceplanting?
