My friend is an EMT and has also had experience with service dogs. 1 disqualification of service dogs is seizures. He has seen in disqualified dogs the same actions. What Biskit has is petite -mahl seizures graduating to grand-mahl seizures. He says you should take him to the vet just to be sure....i hope its just him sleepwalking but theres a strong possibility that it is more serious. He is adorable and we wish for the best outcome :)

awful awful awful. Clearly the dog is in distress when it stands up and it appears he is temporarily paralyzed. I certainly hope the owner has taken the animal to the vet and isn't just one of those incredibly stupid pet owners allowing their pet to suffer simply because they are too lazy or stupid to take them in to be seen.

@carajacksonn27cj except this isn't sleepwalking, it's a seizure and yes it could kill him because animals having seizures, or in the aftermath of a seizure, are prone to bite due to confusion which could result in him being put down. He could also injure himself badly during a fit, I've seen human fits and they don't always just lay on the floor twitching, sometimes the victim can be quite mobile and get into dangerous situations.

This dog needs to see a vet.

@ClaudineJones I'm sorry, what? Mobile? I've seen a few seizures as a nurse. Interestingly, I have seen all types of seizures and during none of them did the patient become "mobile," unless you mean falling down from a standing position.

I'm not convinced this dog is having seizures, but I do believe he or she is suffering from a severe sleep disorder.

@WikkiWooYeah My own dog has had 3 episodes in 5 years that the vet advises keeping an eye on but thinks medication is unneccesary at this stage. He's never had a full-blown fit, is mobile but appears to be in an altered state, is unresponsive to his name being called and startled at being touched. I saw a man suddenly jump up onto a cafe counter and sit twitching while unresponsive to his family who were explaining to staff that he wasn't being anti-social, he was epileptic.

Awww... I love Bizkit!!... I feel bad for him tho... I used to sleep walk and it was awful. I once found myself across the hey meadow from the house floating in a creek on a floatie, in the middle of the night and I can't swim! No one knew I had walked out of the house! Poor guy is actually having a form of seizure. You can tell by the tensing of the muscles when it stands up and towards the end when you speak to it, he is basically just coming out of the seizure. Hence why he looks somewhat confused. My cocker was like that for over 10 years...but he would not stand....just a grand mal seizure laying down.
