This song encapsulates everything from a great range of vocals, beautiful lyrics and brilliant guitar solo, with Freddie's passionate accompaniment on piano. It subtlely draws you into a man's desire for a secret woman.
Too bad the cammeras only focused on Freddie and we don´t get to see the rest of the band (not even in that amazing guitar solo).
But that is one of their best performances I´ve ever seen. "Queen II" is my favorite album, but in the most common DVDs you don´t get any of its songs...

@0000snap0000 OMG YES!! Freddie would have been excellent as the Phantom. I can't remember which video but a guy wrote that he claims Freddie sang for Andrew Lloyd Webber in the late '80's. Then Freddie became ill. I asked him questions but he hasn't responded back.
Makes me wonder if Mr. Webber was thinking about Freddie doing Phantom because when the movie came out in 2004 Webber said that he wanted the Phantom to have a rock voice.
Superb!!! I remember first hearing the album Queen ll ... (Anyone remember vinyl)? Personally I still believe that vinyl 'records', have a better and fuller sound quality than compact disc (CD)... Anyway, what intrigued me about Queen ll (apart from the amazing band I was hearing), was that the album wasn't side One and side Two, but - side BLACK and side WHITE!! I also used to have a Queen EP on vinyl which White Queen was on... But that's another story!
I began listening to an unknown group called "Queen" when I was quite a young child. It is certainly nice to know that I was able to recognize fine talent even at that age. Thank you so very much for this outstanding video!!!

Mmmm still not quite as good as the studio/album version, but LORD HAVE MERCY I BLOODY LOVE THIS SONG!! <3 It's just so earthy and pagan! This, Fairy Feller, and Black Queen are the reasons I call Queen II the Pagan record.
In other words, it's just too beautiful.

At later concerts Queen never played this anymore.
It's even not on the killer Queen album.
Does anybody know why?

@ettertje01 maybe I'm wrong but don't you mean live killers album? Well they dropped alot of great songs later on in the years.

My favourite album of all time.I had 7 copies of it at one time !! Why ?? Because I could I suppose. I think of all the albums I have by many various rock or metal artists this one lets me escape to a place so far away. No other album has the ability to do this for me - not even any Led Zeppelin album. Thank Heaven for You Tube for being able to bring us such musical gems from a band who make such original ,haunting music. Queen II. Such an influencial album for many of todays top rock acts.

I first saw Queen in 1973 and many times subsequently. I agree with your comment totally. A very perceptive and intuitive post encapsulating everything I, and I'm sure countless others, feel and felt about the band. Well done.

excuse me a brilliant song written by Brian May HELLO? Beautiful guitar solo by Brian May and 'NO' Camera on him! from 2.50 to 4.30 Camera Man should be shot! it annoys me however great version I like this better than the Queen II studio album

Freddie back then could have been a good Phantom in Phantom Of The Opera. But seriously, no one could ever duplicate his sound. Absolutely the best!

@0000snap0000 OMG YES!! Freddie would have been excellent as the Phantom. I can't remember which video but a guy wrote that he claims Freddie sang for Andrew Lloyd Webber in the late '80's. Then Freddie became ill. I asked him questions but he hasn't responded back.
Makes me wonder if Mr. Webber was thinking about Freddie doing Phantom because when the movie came out in 2004 Webber said that he wanted the Phantom to have a rock voice.

Superb!!! I remember first hearing the album Queen ll ... (Anyone remember vinyl)? Personally I still believe that vinyl 'records', have a better and fuller sound quality than compact disc (CD)... Anyway, what intrigued me about Queen ll (apart from the amazing band I was hearing), was that the album wasn't side One and side Two, but - side BLACK and side WHITE!! I also used to have a Queen EP on vinyl which White Queen was on... But that's another story!

I began listening to an unknown group called "Queen" when I was quite a young child. It is certainly nice to know that I was able to recognize fine talent even at that age. Thank you so very much for this outstanding video!!!
