Thast first one.. all well and good except a safety barrier should not cause the death of a driver but prevent it.. outside of a testing zone (eg on a road with a driver!) the bridge would be fine but the driver dead!

i think the purpose of this test is not to see if the driver survive-obviously he wont. but whether a flyover with such pillar is vulnerable to collapse.
