um im guessing the point is so ppl get your voicemail..but why would you take the time to actually wrap your phone in foil when you can just turn it off?
One day I called a cell, put it in a microwave oven and turned it on. The phone kept working. I heard the fan etc. It survived about 30 seconds before it sparked the charging contacts off. It still worked afterwards. Good thing it was in warranty.
i bet he dident call his number beacause between 2:37-2:39 he had time 2 dial beacause thaey stoped recording then started recording again u could see that beacause the motion waves
Oh my gosh. You put your phone in a Faraday Cage and it blocked the radio waves. What a surprise. Sheesh! and I wasted 3 minutes of my life watching this. One star for you.
Well done, i mean, who would have guessed that if you block a phones signal,,, that it would go straight to voice mail? You know i bet if you turned the phone OFF aswell, then tried calling, i bet that then it wouldnt ring too. Dude you are so clever!
Yea it works because the foil acts like a faraday cage blocking communications between the cell phone and the tower. If the tower and phone can't communicate, then the phone won't know it has an incoming call. Simple really.
Pleaaaaaaaaaaase make this your personal icon monty.
It would show you for who you really are when people look at you and see this icon other than making them think you're a depressed dude with massively spiky hair.
Think you messed up a bit Monty. Your response 'You are WRONG! Try it yourself, dummy!' was to beerfordave who was responding to the remote cell phone / locked door trick. Which I replied 'Why don't you give it a shot yourself and post a new vid?' Which you replied 'Mister22MR2: I already did a video on the subject. Unless, you are just joking around.' Obviously I was talking about the remote locked door trick. Got it now? =)
when u get chipped or a chipped ID, and don't want to be found and want to disappear and become invisible for BIG-Brother... there's the way to do it, cheap simple and easy done!
that reminds me of making a crumbled hat to shield you from aliens "beams" ... u know... so.... tho fon can't be tracked with other words, same principle as going through a tunnel or a over steal bridge, you can't receive radio signals, it blacks out!
It is SOOO interesting.... alot of Radio frequency~~around the air......it is all over the place... our world, our planet..... Lordy.... Peace to you Monty~!
I got a better trick. Lock your keys in your car, do it. Its ok. Now, if you have one of them electric keylock switches, call your wife/husband/it, and have them push the button close to the cell phone, you place the cell phone next to the key entry. The signal will go through the phones and open the car door. You dont need OnStar with this.
It's a neat trick. I'm not sure how it would be more useful than turning the phone off, but it's a neat trick nevertheless. Perhaps all those tinfoil-hat-wearing people out there are onto something! :D Hey, just read that tinfoil hats can amplify frequencies reserved by the govt...hehe. Funny. The most curious part perhaps is the requirement to crumple the tinfoil first. Tried to look it up, found a reference or two to the famous Faraday Cage but not sure if this constitutes such a thing...cont
cont...Given that radiation can be absorbed by electrons in a suitable atom, then absorption is possible here. Also, in metals the outer electrons are not tightly bound to the atoms, so they go swirling around. Perhaps crumpling creates lots of angles and forces the electron cloud to be diverted sufficiently to create weird eddies in the magnetic field, causing even greater interference with incoming radio waves. Anyway, interesting stuff. Not sure what wavelengths are absorbed by aluminum...
Well, after wrapping loosely, and uncrumpled, it rang, but when I turned it over it didn't ring, and then I made a peekaboo in the foil and it didn't ring...So I didn't *have* to crumple the tinfoil to block the signal, just had to make sure the tinfoil wasn't open substantially, but it probably works better crumpled anyway.
You are one SMART MONKEY! lol You are 100% correct. The signal cannot go through because of all of the angles that are created when you crumple it! Did you go to Harvard?
Hehe, nope no Harvard grads here, but that logic came from engineering school. I really enjoy materials. I have a whole book on steel. Electricity though is a real weak point for me.
Why did you re-upload this? You deleted my nice long explanation :P Didn't get to see what ever your comment was either. Oh well, good video none the less.
For those of you who can't figure it out by yourselves, the moral of this little experiment would be as follows............
.. If for some reason you can't refuse to carry this RF ID card the gov. is trying to make mandantory, then wrap that fucker in foil so they cant detect your there.........!
So, I guess there is some truth to keeping the government out of our heads by wearing Aluminum foil hats! Ha! Thanks Montagraph for this interesting and insightful message!
On a day to day basis I pack up my lunch along with my Cell Phone in Aluminum Foil before I go to work. I was always wondering why I was missing calls until after lunch time. Thank you Montagraph, I'm switching to Saran Wrap!
