  • the 2009-present Toyota Venza is assembled in

    Georgetown, Kentucky, United States

  • Aw, we got so excited by such technology back in 2009 :)

  • in my opinion a usb port would still be better because it would allow charging as well

  • Does the bluetooth audio allow the user to control the audio without touching the device? Will the steering wheel buttons (or the touch screen) allow you to play/pause or select next track?

  • Great Video:) Please feel free to chk out my video for the cheapest deals on bluetooth headsets and more!!

  • what a silly thing man, i just plug in my iphone in my audi s4 and i get all the songs i want, its pretty much in any car you want and all you need it ipod/iphone connectivity cable

  • I just know I can't stream music to my headset or the display model with my iPhone 3G. maybe it's the other devices' problem.

wireless is better for charging since it's the only sure way to get rid of the ground loop buzz I get in my car when I try and charge while playing via aux in.

  • "Wireless" until your phone battery drains out from all the audio streaming.

Fine for short trips I guess.

  • Or you know get a car charger plug it in put in the centre console... that is what I do with my phone and bluetooth works perfect.

  • Can it stream Shoutcast from the IPHONE 3G?

  • nah good for sweet 10 hours with iPod touch

  • The Mazda 3 GT has this.

  • Yep you can't control from steering wheel:( I just can pause it

  • just wanted to comment that the iPhone does not actually support this sort of functionality. i took this video as proof when i saw it, but apparently they decided to remove this feature in the development process.

  • @sirsnowlock Are you sure? Because the iphone and ipod touch have the same bluetooth chip and the ipod touch works with A2DP profile.

  • I haven't exhausted my search yet, but I'm not getting my iPhone to stream via Bluetooth with my 2009 Toyota Venza. The Bluetooth tab shown in this video is dimmed and unavailable. The phone part works great via Bluetooth. Just not the streaming iTunes.

  • @gskibum may I know how much did you get it for? I'm planning to get the 4 cylinder one.

  • @Danklin24 i eventually discovered that it was an issue with the other devices, not the iphone itself. if my iphone is paired to a bluetooth headset, car, stereo or the like it will show the bluetooth button only if the device being paired with supports A2DP.

kind of late...well Extremely late, but youtube showed me a message of this old reply so yeah.

  • @sirsnowlock My iPhone connects to this system with ease. So does everyone elses iPhone that has BT audio streaming capability. Also compatible with some Blackberry and other smart phones. My girlfriends iPod even works with this system.

  • nice lol

  • if u dont want to waste money on a iphone and like the bluetooth capability check out the samsung p2 it has bluetooth as does all their other mp3 players just that everyone thinks ipods are the only mp3 players and dont even look at other mp3 players fyi p2 has the best sound quality of any mp3 player out there and yes it is touch screen too.

  • what is offical release date this could be any month etc when you say summer

  • overall I think this is a really cool feature... what would be really cool now is if it does it automatically when you come in... or if it detects your mood :o

  • maybe not the mood thing... but the audio thing would be cool... I have to physically connect my mp3 player to the car/car radio... this would be great! (less hassle, fluidity of music!) thanks, great post! =)

  • Looks like a Ford Edge copycat to me! Smh..

  • Do really need this?

  • He doesnt mention that that iphone is on 3.0 beta. The mode of BT isnt available to the general public yet.

  • Did you watch the video? It's the first thing I say. It won't be available until this summer.

  • You said that about the car, not the iphone. You said "use any iphone", hinting that people with BT in there cars right now could do it with the iphone.

  • damn America is Slow....We done been doing this shit in europe...catch up Bitches!!

  • Oh... also... what happens when you are listening to music and you get a call? When the call is finished, does the music resume?

  • music fades away, you answer, converse, hang up, music fades back on.

  • Dave T,

Can you elaborate on these audio features? Can you listen to audio over A2DP from, say, the Pandora app? How's the quality?

I know the review is for the stereo, not the phone, but a lot of us folks are interested to see those features.

    Thanks!

  • wow, it's just a phone. you guys are harsh. :)

  • yea most phones now can do bt music, my old pocket pc from 2003 can do that, and the new sprint lotus, etc. and to the comment that was made earlier yea aftermarket decks can do it, but not many from factory. and he said one of the first few cars not the first car.

  • does it work with itouch ? this seems to be a very good tech. no more wiring

  • 1st gen itouch, no 2nd gen itouch, yes. wait for 3.0 release this summer.

  • cool, I was planning to get the 2nd gen itouch this week. but now I'm going to wait for the new one. Thanks

  • will it play it on 5.1 or 2.0 channel?

  • Looks like Ford & Sync beat Toyota to the punch on this one, huh...

  • @Billy4202 A lot cheaper and more widely available on different models and trim levels.

  • I can do this with my 2 year old Sony Walkman Phone and my Fusion with Sync...nothing new...

  • FAKE

  • aaaaaand iphone too is another POS

my blackberry curve has been able to do this for almost 2 years now

  • jealous?

  • whats to be jealous of? a toyota? lol good one

  • i have a 97 dodge neon that does this with an aftermarket cd deck its OLD NEWS

Toyota, do us all a favour and throw up ur shitty cars in the ocean and leave the automotive business ASAP!!

  • I have a ford fucus with sync that will do this...and its an 08

  • thats really cool.

  • neat little feature

  • Thats nuts yo, to bad it wasn't on the Camry or I would've jumped on that !!!

  • Well once again Toyota and Apple lead the field... oh wait a minute I did this December 2007 on a demo Ford Focus with Sync and used my Samsung Gleam... I don't mean to be so sarcastic but this is hardly a groundbreaking feature any Ford with sync will do it and almost every phone that has a music player function and bluetooth that has been released within the last year will stream music. Neat but not groundbreaking call me a homer but Ford beat the Japanese to the punch by a year and a half.

  • Any Ford with Sync will not pair through Bluetooth to get your multimedia, hence the video above ^^^ and the hype around this feature.

  • Well so far I have done it in a 2008 Focus in dec of 2007 and did it again last week in a 2009 Fusion that my friend was test driving and brought by to have me check out.... the Focus stickered for 15 grand and the Fusion was a base model 4cyl 5 speed car with the Sync and Sun package and no other options so I am two for two... so which sync models do not have this feature as I have not run across one yet and these two cars were hardly top of the line fords.

  • Last time it was in the fleet the weather was -10 degrees. Cameras (and reviewers) don't work so well in that temperature.

  • LMAO :D

  • It eliminates the need to plug the phone directly into the car. It's hardly groundbreaking but a nice feature for some I guess.

  • This is for music. Not many cars feature that even if they allow you to talk on your phone via bluetooth which is pretty common.

  • does anyone know how much sense this feature makes?perfect.

  • no need to worry about those annoying ipod wires. keeps things neat. i like it. too bad i don't have the car OR iphone.
