But every country has the right to it's own attack/defense capabilities. BUT - I also believe NO country has the right to nuclear weapons. It put an end to WWII, but at a terrible cost. Build nuclear power plants and things of that sort, but nuclear weapons need to be a thing of the past. That goes for ALL countries.

But every country has the right to it's own attack/defense capabilities. BUT - I also believe NO country has the right to nuclear weapons. It put an end to WWII, but at a terrible cost. Build nuclear power plants and things of that sort, but nuclear weapons need to be a thing of the past. That goes for ALL countries.

I've never said that Iran has never done anything wrong, but I would much prefer to see them as regional hegemon over Israel or the US because (1) they actually are a native power, not some imperialist coloniser from the other side of the planet, and (2) unlike both of the former they actually know how to manage their own house (The Middle East)!

@borinque74 I'm not attacking the character of the American people, when I say the USA I'm obviously referring to its leadership. There is absolutley no doubt that what we in the west call 'terrorist movements' in the Middle East have no just spontaneously spawned themselves, it is a direct consequence of American actions in the Middle East, actions which now cause the US to face a country that has spun loose from its control and its now struggling with it for regional dominance.

@borinque74 Ok, the US succeeded in effectively de-constructing the already artificial country of Iraq and opened it up into a regional battlefield which has seen over 1 million people slaughtered! And I'm not meant to blame the US for that? The fact is Iran is the only force now, preventing Iraq from spiralling out of control and ironically, from becoming the gravesite of the 50,000 US troops still there! THAT is telling of who really has their finger on the pulse of the region.

@borinque74 Don't make the mistake of assuming that the West has some inherent right to be in the Middle East because it's a 'stabilizing force', quite the opposite. If America or the West has nothing to do with sectarian groups butchering each other, I point you to Lebanon 1975-1990 which, at its essence, was about the Christian and Sunni pluralities maintaining the political hegemony accorded to them in their artificial state by the French and later the Americans.

Because the US openly declares its intentions to attack them, for no other reason than that they (referring to Iran) are NO-ONE'S client or puppet. Iran is the only truly independent state in the Middle East, and is fast positioning itself to become the dominant regional power, so it is as accurate to say that the US also fears Iran!

@borinque74 I'm always open to the possibility that I'm wrong, but the past is always an indicator of the future, yes both govts have their own agenda, I just happen to side with Iran over the US, and neither do I wish harm on anyone else, but I haven't said anything like 'hit them hard.' The ball is in America's court, they can act like a reasonable player, or resolve their problems through violence, I encourage US not to strike 1st bcuz it will be them who will be 'hit hard' in response!

This is propaganda. The top military brass in the US military have recognized that Iran has enormous capabilities to deny the effectiveness of any bombing campaigns against them. Layers upon layers of point defense networks will see to that. The moment any hostilities start, every US Navy ship is automatically a target. If the military can't inflict considerable damage using air power, there won't be any ground war. There, the US will suffer even greater setbacks. Iran is NOT Iraq!

Absolutely, very very true, the ONLY thing she could do is to strike first and destroy the carriers, that is all anyone could ever do to win, even China as an example.
One does not stand a chance with the U.S and Israel strategically keeping track of all radar and air defense for several years now and planning the attack with new advanced bunker weapons and the like.
Iran would be deaf dumb and blind within the first hour of an attack.
