When he came to me and asked to join while we were still engaged, I cringed, but knew it was his dream to follow in his family's footsteps. I have been there, my husband retired from 3rd Infantry after 22 years in & I am so thankful he came home safe, even if in many ways we will never be the same people, we love each other so deeply. my wife cant listen to this without crying. this year i retire and ive never seen her so happy. she has a jar of jellybeans, with the number of days left matching the number of jelly beans. she eats one a day, we used to do this when i was deployed. now the end of the road is approaching, hope she can put up with me lol.

I am engaged to a wonderful man in the army.... I found out a couple months ago that he will be deploying shortly after our 6 month anniversary of our marriage.. everyone keeps telling me how hard it is being a soldier's wife and I honestly am a little scared my mother in law is married to a man that was also in the army and I know she went through so much.I really hope I can be strong for us .... really not having any friends in this situation is what throws me off... no one to know how i feel

I just sent my husband off after a holiday break, hardest thing to do is say goodbye not knowing if you'll see them again, but I'm so proud of him for what he does.

my husband is on his first deployment just got out of ait anf being away from us for 8 months now he is gone again for anywhere from a year to 15 months. We found out right before he lefted i was pregnant now I am 15 weeks along with a 3 year old and a 1 year old at home. And when he gets back after a year we are looking at another year deployment. Its really hard but we are doing it.

I have been married for almost 16 yrs and was in when I met my husband. He just re-enlisted for our last time. Now we are INDEF...which means it is now until retirement. Our first deployment came when my children were 1 and 2 yrs old. They are now 13 and 14 yrs old. Every time he leaves..... I miss him so much.

I heard this song for the first in 06 when my husband was deployed to Iraq. Every word in the song is so true. Being a Soldiers Wife is the hardest job in the army regardless if they are gone for 2 weeks or 15 months. I was a mother of a 1 1/2 yr old and pregnant when he was gone the first time around. My best friends hubby just left and she just found out they are having their second child. My cousin is there as well as another friend of mine. They all have kids and I hear how hard it is for them while their husbands are away. This song helps those who do not have loved ones over there try to understand what it is like for those who do.

I'm an army wife, granted my husband doesn't leave for a full year- but his job is no less dangerous, and the separation is no less difficult. I love my soldier as well. More than I could ever express in words- and he is the embodiment of my heart. Not to mention our friends, who are also deployed. They're family to me... they're all deployed right now. And I miss them dearly. Don't ever think one person has it easier than another.

His tour is for one year starting on the day he got there. He was mobilized several months before that, and away preparing for mobilization a few months before that... he's already been gone more than 11 months.

That's my sister. The little boy eating the popsicle is my son. As you can tell, Roxie tried to include as many soldiers' families in this video. It's a shame it didn't do as well as we hoped. Incidentally, a portion of the proceeds from the song went to help the families of soldiers.

Powerful! I have been there, my husband retired from 3rd Infantry after 22 years in & I am so thankful he came home safe, even if in many ways we will never be the same people, we love each other so deeply. We will never get that time apart back, but I would do it all again, I am so proud to have been a soldier's wife, Oh how I relate to all this song says. God bless our troops & their families, they serve there, we serve here.

my wife cant listen to this without crying. this year i retire and ive never seen her so happy. she has a jar of jellybeans, with the number of days left matching the number of jelly beans. she eats one a day, we used to do this when i was deployed. now the end of the road is approaching, hope she can put up with me lol.

i love this song when it first came out, i'v ebeen an army wife for 10 yrs and my hubby has been in the army for 13 years, he's deployed yet again, and 7 days ago, i almost lost him, to an IED, he's alive, but has memory loss, TO ALL MY fellow "sisters" stay strong and remember that you have your sisters to fall on.. we know how you feel, so pls don't feel alone!!!

I am engaged to a wonderful man in the army.... I found out a couple months ago that he will be deploying shortly after our 6 month anniversary of our marriage.. everyone keeps telling me how hard it is being a soldier's wife and I honestly am a little scared my mother in law is married to a man that was also in the army and I know she went through so much.I really hope I can be strong for us .... really not having any friends in this situation is what throws me off... no one to know how i feel

my husband is on his first deployment just got out of ait anf being away from us for 8 months now he is gone again for anywhere from a year to 15 months. We found out right before he lefted i was pregnant now I am 15 weeks along with a 3 year old and a 1 year old at home. And when he gets back after a year we are looking at another year deployment. Its really hard but we are doing it.

I have been married for almost 16 yrs and was in when I met my husband. He just re-enlisted for our last time. Now we are INDEF...which means it is now until retirement. Our first deployment came when my children were 1 and 2 yrs old. They are now 13 and 14 yrs old. Every time he leaves..... I miss him so much.

This is the most amazing song I have heard. It is so true everyword. My fiance is deployed to Iraq he has been gone since September 07. We have a 6yr old daughter who asks the very difficult question of when is Daddy coming home. This song brought me to tears but as im sure any army wife knows isnt hard to do! God Bless our Troops!

I heard this song for the first in 06 when my husband was deployed to Iraq. Every word in the song is so true. Being a Soldiers Wife is the hardest job in the army regardless if they are gone for 2 weeks or 15 months. I was a mother of a 1 1/2 yr old and pregnant when he was gone the first time around. Thought that was hard but now its harder becuase they know daddy is away and ask all the time when will he be home. God Bless our troops and families. Thank you all for your support

This is a wonderful song. So true to life. My brother in law has been to Iraq twice leaving behind my sister and their girls. My best friends hubby just left and she just found out they are having their second child. My cousin is there as well as another friend of mine. They all have kids and I hear how hard it is for them while their husbands are away. This song helps those who do not have loved ones over there try to understand what it is like for those who do.

I'm an army wife, granted my husband doesn't leave for a full year- but his job is no less dangerous, and the separation is no less difficult. I love my soldier as well. More than I could ever express in words- and he is the embodiment of my heart. Not to mention our friends, who are also deployed. They're family to me... they're all deployed right now. And I miss them dearly. Don't ever think one person has it easier than another.

I understand how you are feeling. My husband has been deployed since July, he's actually been gone since April but has just recently arrived in Iraq. It is tough, sometimes even a sad song makes you feel like someone knows what we are going through. All the wives and their spouses and families are in my prayers.

sorry to ask but how long is your husbands tour? a wait untill feburary is very long, are the tours for american tours that long?

His tour is for one year starting on the day he got there. He was mobilized several months before that, and away preparing for mobilization a few months before that... he's already been gone more than 11 months.

I love this song it rings so true in so many military wives hearts and lives. My husband is gone on a fifteen month deployment. My kids miss him so much. and my son swears that when he gets big he's "going to war to fight for our freedom." This hurts but also makes me pround my 6 year old son understands "Duty".

I love this video and the song. Its the most honest thing I've heard in a while. I'm the wife of a soldier too and he is being deployed in less than a week. I'm petrified but this song gives me more than enough reason to keep my faith high.

I love the song makes me cry nearly everytime I see it have already got the cd we are on our second deployment and I am a soldier's wife !!

i just cried listening to the song. :( so true. anything thats says it on this song. my husband is currently deployed in Iraq since Oct. 2006. and its heartbreaking everyday but i love him so much. wish he'd be here already. :(

Indeed, a very touching and emotional song to me. I am a soldier for 10 years between 1993 to 2003 and i understand how it feels on my wife when i am away serving for my country of Singapore. To all the great and loving wife of our allied American soldier, i salute you.

diojones72 not just you this my first to hear that song I tear up and been married to a Military some times can be scary that your Hubby will one day got call to go. even typing makes me thinking and sad in the same times some times i don't like to think about it and I know my husband don't like to think about too.
