In my opinion a hung parliament is the best kind of parliament. New laws are more likely to go through on their own merits than because the whip manages to rally all of the majority-party members into voting for it, with little to no second thoughts or re-evaluation.

because less than half the country voted conservative, that means, if they get control of the country just because they got more votes. thats a lot of VERY unhappy people (more than half the country are being governed by something they didnt ask for), there has to be a majority win for it to be fair.

I think it is obvious the British electoral system needs reform. In 2005 the Lib Dems got close to 6 million votes with 62 seats. Last night, they got allmost 7 million votes but are DOWN to 57 seats. That is fundamentally not right.
