This new Pumpkins sound is refreshing for sure. I think it took them a little while to take off and find this new sound, starting with the Ashbury concert, the roughest period ending with the first Teargarden EP. They seem to have found their element now - and I say "they" because it sounds less like Billy Corgan and more like a collaborative. Nothing will ever replace JC but Mike brings a new sound to the band.

It's a new era, folks. Respect it, neglect it, but don't hate on it.

This is literally the first thing in 17 years that has saddened me about SP besides the breakup... It's like watching Rembrandt proudly display his completed Bugs Bunny coloring book. Even when I try to find the good in it; the Billy Corgan virtue; it's still like watching SNL. I know SP are a "fun" band, nothing this absurd was ever actually released. At least Butch's pig head was mildly cogitative. I want to believe I just don't get it yet. I do. But...

I have thoroughly cherished *everything* SP has given me since 1994. Billy changed my life. I was almost sad about the bald head and the silver pants. I vividly remember feeling a a small welling in my spirit the first time I heard BWBW, but I gladly went along anyway. I was supportive when the Jimmy thing happened, and when D'Arcy finally walked I was nervous but ok. I loved the book, I supported Zwan (3 shows!), helped promote the solo record, rejoiced over the reunion. Now I get THIS?

I agree with the fact that Billy's Songwriting is the most inconsistent music in the history of music, itself. I know people have a love/hate relationship with his songs. IMHO, he's such a prolific Songwriter, & has so many songs, maybe he just doesn't know how to edit himself? He will pull out another great album, it's just a matter of time. Adore and MC&IS are two albums that got me thru some REALLY shit times. Anyone that created these masterpieces, is worth our patience. This is just a lull.

Hell Adore was vastly different from MCIS, Siamese Dream & Gish yet people now love it to pieces (with it being for the majority not liked upon release for being too different to what they expected from SP). This new stuff should be looked at in the same way, regardless of what sounds come out it is still Pumpkins; don't kid yourself if you think otherwise.
