Now don't get me wrong I am a big Joshua Bell fan. However, in an article covering him and Nigel Kennedy once he was, in at least implication, somewhat condescending of Nigel's crossover into jazz. Mmmmm.....Has he sold his soul now...or has he grown up?
@BenMcCormack91 In the article when asked if he had thought about trying jazz like Nigel he was quoted to have said (along the lines of that) the violin was not the best of jazz instruments and that he "did not have any incentive or hear any calling"!
I would like Joshua to know that he plays the violin of my friend Joan's grandfather. I sent her some YouTube links of Huberman playing it, as well as some of Joshua playing it.
Huberman is a hard act to follow, but having seen Joshua play, I'd say he is a perfect standard-bearer.
I love your music, specially Estrellita. I was looking for an instrumental version for my daughter Melanie-Rose sing at a contest. Please stop by our channel xensan379 & see her videos, I will post the one from Estrellita once she performs it.
Joshua Bell has got the bulltshit figured out. Pretty boy makes the teenage girls get gooey in their panties, all of those who know NOTHING about classical music; he makes the little blue haired ladies think he is the "darling of the classics" inspite of those rather obvious mistakes (usually when he's high). Yep!
It's part and parcel of the 21st Century concert goers; musically illiterate and loving pretty-boi 'closet cases' from the get-go.
@MarcusHolly why do you say bullshit? and what's wrong with people not knowing anything about classical music but who are -or get - interested in it because of Joshua Bell? You present your statements to be true based on your assumptions that are fueled by negative thoughts... the rest of us here is just enjoying the music and the way he plays it :-)
That's part and parcel of concert goers in any time frame. It's estimated only 3% of the world's population qualifies as fully musically literate. The best of any art is designed by the few and made for the many, and Joshua Bell is without a doubt one of the masters of this.
@MarcusHolly I must have missed something. At what age did you make your first philharmonic debut? What renown music academy did you receive a full scholarship to? How many albums have you recorded? How many national and international symphonies have you been invited to perform with? Oh sorry I confused you with someone who thinks he knows what he is talking about. My bad!
This was great! Joshua seems like the new breed of classical artists who, (as he says,) earn their bread and butter with classical music, this video makes it seem like he would have fun loosening up. Pavarotti showed that at times singing songs from his youth, and Andrea Boccelli doing popular albums with people like Celine Dion. Some of the worlds greatest musicians and vocalists have learned to admit that music can be fun! In his private time, maybe Joshua will break into Charlie Daniels! LOL!
he'd sound better if he didn't jump around so much

@mrwasbesonders You sure? I'm pretty sure he's always done a lot of crossover. Though I haven't followed him for a long time.

The name "Joshua" sounds too hebrew (ie.., Jewish) and "Bell" sounds too generic or commercial.

To Marcus Holly...your comments define YOUR lack of culture...not all are
fortunate to be raised in a cultural environment but appreciation of same can
be acquired at any point in life! Comments like yours are so trashy, they should
be removed.
