I don't get it. Why cover a music so recent? And why make it so similar to the original? And why not as nice as other Dylan covers Jack White have done in the past?
@6xxxemorockerxxx6 patrick keeler from the raconteurs/greenhornes, the guitarist from the black belles (the girl) and others whom Im not familiar with
Jack, who adores Son House and based his music on his style and performance, will always adore his elders and have more respect for them than any other artist I've seen so far. He is the only soul that knows to take something old and renew it without stripping away its original qualities. It's the new old blues, in the form of rock and roll. Pure genius? Naaah, it's just plain ol' Jack and his trustworthy Gretsch G5
i know jack's a good man, but, looking at It Might Get Loud, I realised that, when it came to the three guitarists involved, jimmy page was all about the affection, the edge was all about the effects, and jack white is all about the affectations. he's jeff lynne, he's dave stewart, donovan - he's a fan, standing on the shoulders of giants. but, hey, that can still result in a good time. every now and then.
@paulbyrnemovies this is kinda what i thought about the edge actually. there was something "organic" sotospeak with page and white, the edge to me kinda seemed out of place. In my opinion it was trying to compare apples ( Page & White) to oranges ( the edge) however still understanding they are all fruit......
I like Dylan's version better. But Jack is pretty amazing. Anything he is involved in is automatically better than it would be without him. I think he has special powers.
genius that man is. he can't produce a bad album. such a great ear for music. love that he's keeping the great's alive. todays music sucks ass. the day jack dies is the day there will be no hope for rock and roll.
This was fantastic..It's so good to see a young man who has so much respect for his elders. Jack is an amazing musician and this just makes us love him even more.
