I HATED Kira,but he was skilled like a mofo.Shinn was DRIVEN,and i loved it,but he was kinda naive in battlemaking desisions.Especially involving the gundams who accidentaly killed his family,but i guess that stayed with him.The Impulse was natural for him.

@ZeonZig then the writers will just add some twist and turns here and there to make it different from other titles.. so it's more appropriate to associate them "covers" to the originals..

I liked Kira as the protagonist in Seed because he had development as a character. I hate Kira in Destiny because he went against his character from Seed, and didn't get any development whatsoever, wasting any screentime he got (Athrun has this problem too, because he goes through the exact same development he went through in Seed).
The main problem with Shinn is that his writers hate him and do their best to make the viewers hate him too, whilst they loved the old cast and wanted us to also.
I wish I could get Sunrise to remake the series to feture Shinn as protagonist UNTIL THE END! He's the coolest gundam seed character ever and his gundam fights were AWSOME, unlike kira's fights, which sucked because he never EVER got a scratch in S.F. That's just gay. Well, Kira never had legit combat training. As for Shinn, I'm pretty sure he has considering he IS an official ZAFT soldier.
Also, Kira does not aim to kill, aiming for two or more body parts (cockpit excluded) PER opposing mobile suit is by far, tougher than Shinn's massacre-ing.
If you notice, Shinn is RARELY placed in combat situations as tough as Kira has experienced.
And to end this comment due to character count, Shinn never can't kill Kira nor Athrun no matter how hard he tries.

I liked Kira at first but once he got Gundam Freedom V1, he started to act overly confident and very preachy.From that point on till the end, it was like "meh, barely passes" but when I saw the result of his actions on Shinn's family, it was clear that Kira was supposed to die in the hands of Shinn.Kira's existance in GSD doesn't make sense, plus stealing the main role has just dug him lower than he already was. In GSD, Shinn was supposed to have an epiphany and change his way but Kira stole it.

Just watch the first episode of GSD at 1:56-58. You'll notice that Kira was airborne when he fired and Calamity was on the ground. Leaving only Kira the possible murderer, otherwise what would have been the point to show that scene. Shinn would have continued in the military service and eventually discover that Kira was the responsible for his family's death. Thus, bringing to a scene that Shinn kills Kira but soon realising what he did was just as bad as Kira and have his epiphany.

I don't blame you. Bandai kept this kind of thing as secret as possible but a bit of info was (unfortunately for Bandai) leaked. Around episode 32, a char popularity survey for GSD was brought up in Shonen Jump and made Kira 1st place. So, when the higher ups in Bandai saw that survey result and knowing Fukuda's story that they're going to kill the n.1 admired char. It would of been wasted money on products like Gundam Freedom v2 if Kira died at episode 34 but they changed that...

It was shinn's sister that killed his family not Cagalli,Uzumi,Or Orb itself.Cagalli was not incharge back then.Uzumi was a good leader,he died trying to save the evacuating citizens.Orb is nuetral,Orb did it's best becoming neutral until the Earth Federation tried to bully them into joining them.Shinn should have been blaming both his sister and the Earth Federation instead of wasting his time blaming Others 4 no reasoning.

Shinn is like one of the most overpowered, characters ever.
He's not that great, always relying on his Seed mode.
Like in almost every fight, it's seed mode, seed mode, seed mode.
It's boring, relying on his rage.
He's one of the worst protagonists in the cosmic era.
And he couldn't kick Kira's ass even if he tried.
He won because Kira didn't want to kill anyone and yeah.
Athrun kicked his ass in the Final Plus episode.

I liked Kira as the protagonist in Seed because he had development as a character. I hate Kira in Destiny because he went against his character from Seed, and didn't get any development whatsoever, wasting any screentime he got (Athrun has this problem too, because he goes through the exact same development he went through in Seed).
The main problem with Shinn is that his writers hate him and do their best to make the viewers hate him too, whilst they loved the old cast and wanted us to also.

I wish I could get Sunrise to remake the series to feture Shinn as protagonist UNTIL THE END! He's the coolest gundam seed character ever and his gundam fights were AWSOME, unlike kira's fights, which sucked because he never EVER got a scratch in S.F. That's just gay. I use to be a kira fan, but ever since seed destiny, Shinn leaped to overall favorite anime male character, pushing kira down to fourth most hated.

Well, Kira never had legit combat training. As for Shinn, I'm pretty sure he has considering he IS an official ZAFT soldier.
Also, Kira does not aim to kill, aiming for two or more body parts (cockpit excluded) PER opposing mobile suit is by far, tougher than Shinn's massacre-ing.
If you notice, Shinn is RARELY placed in combat situations as tough as Kira has experienced.
And to end this comment due to character count, Shinn never can't kill Kira nor Athrun no matter how hard he tries.

@xGaiDaigoji yes, i agree that kira is the worst charcter, but i gave him a nickname : kira jesus yamoto because he does NOT die even a nuclear explosion was not able to kill him and when aegis and strike were fighting he survived while athrun had to use some boosters or something like that to get away and still almost died from the explosion

Sure Shinn may have more kills under his belt, but that's only because Kira pwns the battlefield while not killing. I admit that Kira's invulnerability was broken in S.F., but that's what happens when you combine the most advanced machine with the highest skills.

I liked Kira at first but once he got Gundam Freedom V1, he started to act overly confident and very preachy.From that point on till the end, it was like "meh, barely passes" but when I saw the result of his actions on Shinn's family, it was clear that Kira was supposed to die in the hands of Shinn.Kira's existance in GSD doesn't make sense, plus stealing the main role has just dug him lower than he already was. In GSD, Shinn was supposed to have an epiphany and change his way but Kira stole it.

Just watch the first episode of GSD at 1:56-58. You'll notice that Kira was airborne when he fired and Calamity was on the ground. Leaving only Kira the possible murderer, otherwise what would have been the point to show that scene. Shinn would have continued in the military service and eventually discover that Kira was the responsible for his family's death. Thus, bringing to a scene that Shinn kills Kira but soon realising what he did was just as bad as Kira and have his epiphany.

actually no, because when Kira was killed by Shinn. There was an uproar among Kira lovers and Fukuda had to change the story drastically. If Shinn is hated so much for being an over-confident brat it was Fukuda's doing but Shinn was later supposed to leave Zaft when Athrun and Meyrin was killed. Leaving Lunamaria hating Shinn and trying to kill him. Why do you think Lunamaria and Shinn's relationship is so bizarre?

I don't blame you. Bandai kept this kind of thing as secret as possible but a bit of info was (unfortunately for Bandai) leaked. Around episode 32, a char popularity survey for GSD was brought up in Shonen Jump and made Kira 1st place. So, when the higher ups in Bandai saw that survey result and knowing Fukuda's story that they're going to kill the n.1 admired char. It would of been wasted money on products like Gundam Freedom v2 if Kira died at episode 34 but they changed that...
