I calibrated today the display of my MBP, and I can say that you can really see the difference!
I did not calibrate my display until now, because I tought that the image on the display is perfect already (compared to other notebooks). But the calibration process has really enhanced the image of my display, especially the colors.
@newcoyote You realize why you have to squint your eyes? IT TELLS YOU TO. Not because the video creator says to, but because the calibrating system says to.
@MLBuckProductions Really? You're right. I watched again more closely this time. My bad. I apologize to the video poster and thank you for correcting me. Maybe I should pay more attention before opening my yap.
I am sorry but this is the wrong way... When you want to calibrate your monitor you need a hardware sensor for it. This calibration has accuracy of somewhere between 10 and 30 % whereas with even the basic colorimeter you can get up to 95% accuracy. This is just a perfect way how to ruin the colors on the LCD. Even though they may look nice they are way off... Just put it back to default or get a colorimeter. No third way.
This was very helpful, thank you very much. And it made a HUGE difference. I didn't realize it was that bad, and I've only had this Macbook Pro for 1 day. Haha. Thanks again man!

It's kinda pointless to make a screencast, cause you can't really see the screen. It's great how you show how to get there, but it's pretty pointless.
While this definitely improves things, it should be made clear that this is only the Minor League way of display calibration. If you have anything even close to resembling a professional need for accurate color (if you do photography, design, publishing, etc), then you NEED to buy a hardware colorimiter. The Xrite Display 2 ($250) is one that does the trick.

If you want to wreck your display, do what this bozo says. Buddy. Squint your eyes? Go play with an etch-a-sketch.

Heheh, no problem. :)

You are likely running a newer version of Mac OS X. Even then, you should be able to calibrate it just fine.

This is the way to calibrate the screen on Tiger, not Leopard

It always seems better to me to tweak the left bar - then the right - then the left again. The Apple will disappear that way.
Thanks homes!

Thanks for the tip. I noticed my whites were a bit off and didn't even think to calibrate.
