A wonderful example of Stockhausen's distinctive (and highly memorable) melodic style. He repressed this piece for many years, thinking it too straightforwardly thematic - at time when 'themes' were deeply unfashionable, of course. But it's remarkable how similar in sound this piece is to the later, post-Mantra music.
