@officernikos Every day the sacrifices made in WW2 are both saddening and inspiring to me. And not just the ones from the english or americans, there were germans too who weren't Nazi's but still had to fight for a government they never desired. I wish i could say i had relatives who did heroic things in the second world war, but being a swede i can only say that Sweden was the main base for sending Norwegian refugees to England and helping the Norwegian resistance force.

I've personally served aside american soldiers and marines in Iraq, and I can tell you that they were some of the noblest men and women I've ever known. The Iraq War was a just war: a democracy is in place of a dictatorship, even if it is relatively inefficient, and there is now relative peace. To say otherwise is to say that you would prefer a dictator to a democratic assembly.

@3814817005 I'm very sorry to hear that, but extremely grateful for your service. I myself will commission into the Air Force in a few years and hope to serve my country just as you did. A lot of people don't understand or respect the profound sacrifices soldiers make both on and off the battlefield to protect their countrymen. I am humbled by your service and I hope I can live up to the sacrifices made by you and especially by your men who have made that ultimate sacrifice.

@3814817005 My grandfather was in the 502 Parachute Infantry Regiment of 101 Airborne Devision. He fought in Normandy, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. He would tell me about it and I would cry. One day I was talking to a friend and he ask me why my eyes were red I told him I had been crying about a story my grandfather told me. He said that was "so gay" I had my grandfather tell him the story and my friend was crying to by the end.

All people think about is hating on war.. But too little do they think about just what people have already been through for them.. Don't hate the soldiers for fighting, giving them hardship even afterwards.. But just think of what they did.. They sacrificed themselves for all of you.. I for one, am extremely grateful for this feat that I wouldn't be able to push myself to.
