Sorry, I realise theatre is often so much better live but these clips fail to inspire me. Trouble is, any performance is bound to be compared to Maggie Smith. Her Jean was less serious and there was a lot of tounge in cheek humour mixed in. In parts here it is hard to pick up even a hint of a Scottish accent.
Sorry for the late response on your comment. I just wanted to point out that these shots are rehearsal footage, not the actual show. Cameras are not allowed during the actual performance without exclusive permition, which I did not get. Also I needed an ad prepared before the opening night.
Personally, neither. This is my first exposure to the story. I'm not sure what the cast, crew and all them did for preeparation. I came into the producation as a publicist pretty late in the game.
We managed to keep all characters in, but had to merge the scenes with mr perry and sister helena together for set change purposes. Which male part did you cut?
Did you make it to Os to see this? Keep in mind too that these shots were from rehearsals in the lab theatre. Photoequipment isn't allowed during the actual show and I needed a "commercial" before opening night.
That's cool that you directed this show! I'm a big fan of the story. How did you approach it?
We focus very much on the relationship between the Brodie and the girls, and their view of her as a role model. With very limited production capabilities our set was reasonalby bare, just magnolia walls with tables and chairs, but this allowed us to focus on characters. What was your approach?
This show was truly amazing the acting was flawless and some scenes nearly brought me too tears on a scale of 1-10 it was a 20 amazing job Oswego theatre department

I think we cut Perry and Helena all together. Their names didn't come up.

Our focus was strong on the relationship between Brodie, Mary and Sandy.
Did you keep all three of the male teachers? Our director said to me that one of the teachers was cut for time.

Sorry but the Hull university drama society version was better, although I am slightly biased. I directed it!

I loved the singing in between the scenes, I wish I could get a hold of it! =) It was a really good show.
