First of all to set the record straight. This song is about John Spence. Not Tony. I have first hand knowledge from friends in the band before he passed away who I still talk to. I was also friends with John.

i was told this song was dedicated to her brother who passed away...ok the song goes its a wonderful wonderful life why did u have to say goodbye...get it and also she mentions how he was the first person to want her, love her and all so it definitely is a song that comes from a very private and personal place. i just wanted to let u know.

@juliew625 if you listen closely to the lyrics, the song is obviously about someone who passed away, "it's a wonderful wonderful life, why'd you have to say goodbye?" plus, gwen and tony are still very close friends and are even working on a new cd right now so the lyrics, "i haven't thought of you for years you know your memory seems to come and go" wouldn't make sense "who was the last to know you?" "how could you think you'd be better off?" (better off, meaning not living). it's platonic love
