Hmm actually my favorite songs on Xo are Pitseleh, Independence day, and Bled White then probably amity and waltz#2. but as far as Either/Or goes. Angeles which is probably in his top 3 best songs, between the bars, rose parade, ballad, alameda. then again elliott smith isnt that great of an album... figure 8 was bleh. and roman candle was good... hard to say but i like them all. rip dood.
figure 8 was bleh? are you serious? son of sam, happiness, everything reminds of her. figure 8 is wonderful. all his albums are very well thought out works of art. he also has some very cool unreleased b-sides from that era as well.
no. sam coombs was heatmiser's bass player for a while but paul pulvirenti drummed for jr.high and n°2. he's now playing with highway(check them out).

what a great songwriter..i saw elliott 14 times over the years and the first time i saw him in 97,i spotted him in a bar a few hours before the show..i was gonna tell him how much i loved his music, but what does he do? he says thanks, buys me a drink and sits and talks for like an hour..he was the most humble person and after that, every time i'd go see him,he'd say "hey, you wanna grab a beer?" there just wasn't anyone like him...greatly missed
yes...here where i live,i used to work the door at this club and knew everyone there(my older brother also worked there)so they didn't really care what i did...that club is still like that...it's a bar but they have all ages shows,so to drink you have to get stamped
love how on the climax ("everybody knows") they ramp it up to a full-out hard rock feel... it's a beautiful take on the song. I would kill to have seen him live back in the day.
oh my god, this version is amazing
