  • i dont think making robots that will get the remote for ppl or something like tht will be a good idea. if that happens and keeps up, it will create a lazier generation :/

  • The Cylons are coming!

  • @Jacory069 dont even mention that horrible horrible movie

  • well...what do you expect will happen?..it only takes one smart rebellion- type robot to influance the others like a robot Hitler or somthing.

  • you know with all the robot and computer advansments sonn people can have robotic limbs that will be easy two control

  • Maybe a robotic limb with a built in spell checker for certain people!

  • When does robot have his own emotion?

  • When it has bias.

  • can a robot have emotions?

  • >DogeKhan

    Sure! they can.

Emotion is aggregation of electro-chemical reactions.

    So, I think...

it can be replaced with a simulation program.

in my sense... it's more fun!! ;)

  • ya, these guys just missed the point of those movies.

  • An estimated 10 years before robots start performing more the way that we've always wanted them too? That's awesome.

  • female robot with big titties uh yeah

  • make a hot female looking robot that can clean & cook & bounce on my dick & i will buy 1 of these robots

  • eventually, such robot will be produced, and only few will be able to afford one.

    watch "Ghost in the Shell"

  • @simhopp

perhaps in the beginning, the most advanced ones will be very expensive and few will be able to afford them, but as with everything else, lower priced ones become available for the masses. Loo at cars, computers, cell phones, radios, TVs, video cameras, etc.

  • I was replying to comment posted by @fretalian

    He was talking about sex-roids.

    robot build for sex.

    not a household robot.

  • @fretalian lol you pretty much summed up what women are good for xD

  • @fretalian It's called a woman.

In all seriousness, this is the 21st century, not the 1960's.

  • I loved the last part. !! robots go shopping and stuff yeah !

  • I want a robot with internet access like you know to do my homework and stuff....

  • the title is "I, Robot"

  • has anybody ever seen I, Robot or Terminator!?

  • WTF? I, robot, or terminator??? Is there a movie called "I", if so pls tell me

  • they shud study how to fuse this robots to human since we can replace some parts of our body but not to fully use it then with cyborg body we might use that certain part at the fullest. who knows we might even be able to make a strong cyborg one day :)

  • i like that mr crab!!!

    wakakka

  • Scary...

  • The bot at 0:20 and 1:17 looks like it's plotting the downfall of humanity. What genius thought it was a great idea to give their robot a psychotic smirk?

  • Okay, more like 1:16 instead of 1:17

  • the robots now are too clumsy but in 50 year maybe better robots more human like

  • it won't take 50 years.

  • Nao FTW!

  • What are we gonna do once we make ourselves obsolete?

  • Drink beer and sit on the beach.

  • go to fucking college and quit doing manual labor you fucking moron.

  • Yeah, and I can tell by your eloquent language that you're college educated.... Yale Maybe?

  • no but OHIO STATE..... I am sick and tired of assholes saying we shouldn't research robotics because of unemployment......... I am sure that the asshole who said that we would all be obsolete will support his case. hey snugsaltynutyz do you believe that robotics are bad in any way???

  • No not at all. Don't get me wrong I optimistic about the future of robotics. I do however worry about the psychological/physical repercussions of becoming more sedentary do to our technology. Our technology is growing faster than our ability to adapt to it. Our technology is sky rocketing while our psychology is still very much in a hunter/ gatherer state.

  • it wont make us obsolete, look at it in the way most modern advancements are helpful today, they make life easier to do more important things that will further ourselves as a race. Things like space travel, medical advancements, furthering our intellectual abilities ect

    Thats my opinion anyway

  • snugsaltynutz...We can do fun stuff all day long!!!!

  • lol i did too... trak is trying SO hard to sound smart.. my favorite part was about the " false punktuation"

oh oh... and how he would not honor him with another word unless he presented a logical argument without any fallacies.... then went right on arguing

    rofl

  • I seriously LOL'd at the comment war going on here. Well done guys.

  • Does this mean the robot will go to my job for me?

  • I thought that the robot at the end was gonna crush that hand...

  • Isn't it what they are designed for ?

Woops I'm gonna get thumbed down now

*Run away from this comments page*

  • I don't want to argue how many people the world can support. There are 6.7 billion people on the world now. You use the world "easily". That's interesting, since we're not feeding everyone now. So you'll concede the point that we need some better ideas. Stifling technology so we can have more low-paying jobs doesn't seem like the right road to me.

  • We need better use of technology and more efficient resource management at the local levels. The age of the Throw away society has to end.

  • the world is fat. to be sure some people starve but only because they live in areas of the planet with little people and little food. you find the food concentrated where the most people concentrate.

you have to look at population density maps to see it thought.

  • I don't think this is very good at all. We don't need robots and the hundred of thousands of people who already lost they're jobs don't need robots taking away more chances for them to get a new one. Technologie is fine but trying to make something to replace the human race is only going to cause us problems in the long run.

  • Wrong, it will cause problems for us in the SHORT-run, while freeing us in the long run to figure things out, like how to control human overpopulation.

  • one scientist said the earth can easily feed and support 80 billion humans so why were you told to believe there is human

    overpopulation?

  • This is if every possible food source is used. This includes things that most people will not eat.

  • because crime is in numbers...how the hell is a government going to run the lives of 20 billion people? how are you going to run a democracy with that many people? and if 80 billion people existed the world's oil would run out in a matter of minutes. so nice try.

  • you want to know what it will take to have that many people? we go back to the dark age, start up cannibalism and go from there. you're talking non-sense if you think that's a good idea..so many people are starving right now and homeless so why do we need more bullshit? people suck and soon you'll get fucked over like we all do and learn people are just overgrown parasites shitting out bastard children to go to war and die for politics, or work in a soul crushing job until they die.

  • Comment removed

  • Thats "one" scientist. I wonder how many scientists think the other.

  • well, since all the other scientist were proven wrong when the planets population reached 5 billion by default

they are all wrong so it doesn't matter

what they think if its incorrect. its just like if a criminal gives false testimony in court , the jury is instructed to disregard the statement. unfortunately most of them have passed on due to old age. they would have been shocked to see the rampant obesity of the human race. but to there credit they were able to predict the 5 billion people

  • the 5 billion people in a world nary a bite to eat. how we were supposed to attain this number with no food is simply beyond comprehension

  • Technological advancement is not a forward predictor of unemployment. Which it would be if your hypothesis were true. And we've been replacing people with machines for a long time now. The result has been that people who've lost their jobs due to mechanisation have found new work.

Don't underestimate the capacity of the economy to generate work (notable exception being now, what with the crisis, but this'll pass).

  • The advancement of human society is worth more than some shmuck nobody's worthless peon job.

  • What a hearlless person you must be Jawalabang yours parents must be so proud. I'd remember this statment if I we're you because you could be the one who loses they're job in the long run and I'll be there laughing.

  • i think robots are a good thing but they shouldn't be doing our work for us unless were elderly or sick

  • and so it begins.....

  • The secret government is flying around in anti gravity machines, using free energy for their "projects" and we get this crapola? 2010 and I'm still using tech from the 50's?

    How bout some sharing dudes?

  • What are you talking about? No one has anti gravity machines or free energy yet.

  • What makes you think free energy is real? And what makes you think there is a secret government, or that anti-gravity machines exist?

  • You realize you can't make crazy people sane by asking questions, right?

  • Socrates tried. I think they made him drink poison :o)

  • think if after some time the robots start to hack PC =O i don't want virus XD

  • Robots are basically advanced computers with bodies. They more efficient and accurate than humans but less creative. Ultimately we can have them do anything for us. Especially dangerous things. This is good stuff. hooray!

  • Robotics wil destroy to our world. Any progression in technology is a catatstrophe as long as we do not capture and kill the elite and end the constat threat to our existence: The hegemony of stone age ethics (war, weapons industry, consumism, starvation, money, banking, capitalism). To not understand this is awkward ahistorical ignorance.

  • That's not true advancements in technology always enhance human possibilities the good and bad comes from people not the technology. Technology is what made it possible for me to watch this and type this.

  • Technology is a broad concept that deals with human as well as other animal species' usage and knowledge of tools and crafts, and how it affects a species' ability to control and adapt to its environment.

  • So much for the definition of technology, as your comment is hard to understand due to false punktuation and in one meaning you actually seem to create your own definition.

Technology gives people the possibility to kill more and more people. This is so obvious. There were no world wars when you had to kick your enemy to death. To ignore the system and how it accelerates as a death machine through the enhancement of efficiency with this abstractions is pitiful. "Nukes aren't good nor bad." BS!

  • from trakkaton on technology

gives people the possibility to kill more & more, yes but it also

gives people the possibility to save more and more

and yo, your "robotics will destroy our world" is an inane paranoid delusion probably derived from watching too many "terminator" movies.

  • Spare me of your illogical abstract ranting. I will not honor you with another word unless you present a logical argument without any fallacies.

  • u say, "robots will destroy our world" and then accuse me of "illogical ranting!?" wow! rofl that is awesome! can you say, "ironic egotistical hypocrisy?"

like seriously bra, can u cite & define a specific logical fallacy in my post or do you just randomly pick critiques that sound good? yeah, i thought so. ur just bluster on blast huh?

check-it trakkaton, it's like a really bad idea to go off your meds, u get loopy and start skyrocketing off in that hot-air, hypocrisy-filled crazy balloon

  • The prospect of a robotic army to subdue the public in a surveillance state is a qualitative one. The appreciation of technotoys for a minority of affluent chauvinists is a quantitative one. You try to balance a qualitative category against a quantitative category. Ridiculous.

A concept is valid or invalid, the source is irrelevant.

To not grasp the significance of cultural prophecy and even use it to justify ignorance is awkward. "Uh, there is no Patriot Act, you've read too much 1984".

  • you completely misunderstood my mockery of your "robots will destroy the world" comment.

i'm not saying your delusional because you've seen too many terminator movies.

i'm saying it's delusional because you state as fact a future event that can't be factually known. your terminator over-viewing may have just provided context.

adding to my sense of your delusion is how you insert & misuse random irrelevant concepts like qualitative, quantitative and chauvinism

dude r u low on your meds?

  • EPIC TROLL.

  • @ Trak

    Part1:

"Technology gives people the possibility to kill more and more people"

It also improves the lives of many people too.

So what should we do then?...not move forward for the fear that we will wipe ourselves out? If that's the case then surely your argument would mean we would all be better off still using bones as tools...oh and that includes the computer you're using now to state your argument.

  • P2:

We can't hold back our advancement for fear of what other madmen might do. Hopefully we will also advance in our sensiblilties too.

But to knock technology while at that same time using the very thing ur knocking is just hypocritical. No one is forcing you to live in a technoligical society. You have the choice and ability to opt out and leave it all behind and go and live in a forest.

  • Learn to read.

  • guess what? If we have robots doing all of our jobs, nobody will have a job, and nobody will get paid. Ergo, we're all gonna be poor cause robots are replacing us.

  • What if the robot works for US. As in bring home the checks!

  • its a pretty safe bet that wont happen. think about it, why do companies use job replacing robots: to cut costs. and why do they cut costs? to make cheaper products? and why do they want cheaper products? so more PEOPLE will buy them. it defeats the purpose to significantly destroy the human work. more robots just means more people are required to have a higher level of education, and stop dropping out of highschool.

  • i dont want to work, develop robots, hurry hurry hurry

  • BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

  • Robotic ingeniery is inevitable anyway. Just like genome modifications it is one of the major step science has to take.

I think more science and technology is always a good thing, what we have to work out is the morality to use it decently.

  • wow this is cutting edge;

    a very genius idea;

    if they hook it up to the internet they better have a good antivirus/firewall;

  • Imagine someone who got his arm blow up could do with a robot arm :P

  • but then you would have a lot of people cutting and blowing off their limbs for super strength :3

  • MoonDoggiez imagine what an amputie would be able to doe with such a arm...

  • This may sound weird, but the way I look at is that the more humans make AI smarter and smarter... We are removing ourselves (the human race) from the equation of life. See, We may have get smart robots to build the other smart robots, and there would be no need for office workers since we'll have robots to do that work for us... I don't know, it may likely never happen, but I am envisioning a human less world filled with self-supportive robots...

  • lol.... this sounds so dangerous.

what about viruses for robots that make them kill there owner?

  • Viruses are typically made to make money. Very few homicidal people have that kind of technical skill. The real fear is how they'll be used by governments and the wars they create with them.

  • So you're saying that somebody who has a desire to murder, can't have technical skills like software development? Yeah, that's asinine.

  • No, if you could read 3 sentences properly you'd see I said "very few homicidal people." It's like how some people have trouble reading, like you, yet there are still some people that can.

  • You are the one that needs to learn how to read, and you need to learn some English comprehension skills as well. You said:

"Very few homicidal people have that kind of technical skill."

You're assuming that the majority of people who murder, can not/won't attain the technical skill to create robotic software that would kill people. And that is asinine.

And NO most viruses aren't made to make money, you know nothing.

  • Yes, I think crazy people are rare. And yes, I think crazy people that are patient enough, and intelligent enough, to develop such skills are even more rare.

What are most viruses made for then? 2 createz teh globalz khaoz?

  • It doesn't improve quality of life.

  • Yeah, just like trains and engines, taking jobs from people. God, I wish we never had those.

  • yeah because people have jobs where they just carry other people on their back right? And noone has a job to make trains or pays to ride on a train right? Your logic is the same as pre-schoolers.

  • They did thousands, even hundreds of years ago. All transports took huge caravans of your prized employees.

And who do you think will make robots? And when robots make themselves, what will they do once they're made? They will make things for humans. What do humans work for? Things. But if robots make them, things will cost nothing because robots work for nothing.

People like you have no understanding or economics or economic history. Infinite advancement = infinite standard of living increase

  • yeah and some things humans can't do like go at a speed even close to the speed of a train, with animals. technology is more important than these little caravans you seem to think we should be using nowadays

  • I'm not the one advocating we use caravans, which is your position: that technology doesn't improve the quality of life.

I'm sorry, originally I thought you were less than literate, but possibly partially intelligent. Clearly, you've proven that wrong, because you think you're advocating my position and that I'm advocating yours.

  • While it may not improve quality of life, it does improve standard of living. Technology of trains and engines greatly improve our standard of living, not quality of life.

  • Wait, so you're saying improving the standard of living doesn't improve our quality of life? Like if I had to work 10 hours less a week to get basic necessities, my quality of life hasn't improved? That me being able to spend more time in my life -- more of my needs being met more easily -- any way that I wanted, that my quality of life wouldn't improve? I don't see how our quality of life would decrease.

  • I think that they are mutually exclusive for the most part. However, I could understand an argument made for having robots to give us more time to do things while they clean, cook, transport us (although some enjoy cleaning and cooking and driving long distances)... which may result in more happiness. meh, interesting idea.

  • THEY TOOK YER JOB.

  • THEY TOOK MY JOB!!

  • lithsp

  • lolya

  • THEYRE TAKIN' OUR JORBS! ! !

  • give everyone what they want if we have robots doing everything for us everything should litterly be free build robots to fix teh other robots and so on

:P nice dream but in this world that will never happen

  • THEY DERK OUR DERKS

  • THEY MUHAMMED JIHAD

  • I love robot news. Oh boy!

  • SICKKK.

    Can't wait.

XVX for life, R.A.S.H. 'til death.

  • Careful using microsoft software on there, you might experience "crashes", "hangs" and the odd hacker hacking into them and doing some pretty nasty stuff using it...

  • Like this, you mean:

    watch?v=W9_DQjQbtTY

  • Android? :-P

    Open Source FTW!

  • Robots will be the future.

  • its getting scary

  • the irobots will be ready in 2018 and the terminators t34 will be ready in 2024 but only the US army will have the terminators

  • very cool

  • CLYONS are coming
