I have been looking for work five years and was willing to do anything from making phone calls to digging ditches and was unable to get anything because illegal immigrants had taken all the traditionally teenager jobs (pizza delivery, car wash, restraunt worker, etc.) When I get more credentials after graduating from college, I'll be able to have more success but until then, WHAT ELSE CAN A TEENAGER DO?!!!

In general, Americans want their food to be inexpensive. If Americans took these jobs, their wages would have to be in-line with State and Federal minimum wage requirements, which would cause the food prices to go up. Farming is already an expensive process and hiring illegals helps keep their costs down.
If the illegals leave, food prices go through the roof and Americans will scream bloody murder. Especially if crops go unharvested when no Americans take those jobs because they are too hard

Thats not going to work. Nobody is going to apply until they leave. That way their competitive salary will go back up for Americans to be able to afford to support their family since they dont share a small home with 8 other families, splitting rents. Theres PLENTY Americans & authorized foreign workers out there that will take it but the problem is.. they are not going to be able to survive at an undecumented workers' salary. Again, they need to leave so their reasonable offers will increase.

Anyone who claims they only take jobs "Americans don't want" have no idea what they are talking about!! In my state (Iowa) there have been many factories raided for hiring illegals (only one raid made national headlines).....After one such raid, one of my wife's coworkers (at a good paying factory job) suddenly had to go back to Texas to take care of a sick relative...These companies are almost always found to be guilty of violating OSHA rules, child labor laws, and sexual harrassment !!

Non-farm workers who take UFW up on this offer, will also work at actual pay rates, both present rates & improved rates that UFW wins for them even if they never join the union. In other words, the pay rate is part of what it is to be a farm worker. The question is will enough Americans be willing to work for that. The answer is NO!

If you were out of work and had a house payment due, and a farmer offered you two weeks of work that would make that payment would you take it?
