You're right about skin hierarchy and there needing to be more representation of black women of ALL shades but I was cast in the video based on my dancing abilities. Your problem should be taken out with the director, not me.

The country i come from (i live outside ghana) light skin girls look down on dark skinnend people.. so what made me mad was that VIP never really represent black i mean darkgirls.. Where i come from light skin girls are not seen as black they are seen as white

@radiofreakkk And you're right, that's a problem. In Ghana, because I am light I was considered white and it blew my mind. I've NEVER been called white in America, ever. It's a problem that around the world women with lighter skin are given more preference, this should NOT be the case. Unfortunately, due to a history of colonization and white standards of beauty, many people still ascribe to white western ideologies of beauty.

@radiofreakkk :I just read some of the comments others have made. I understand how they feel but I'm sorry that they're putting their anger out on you. I did however want to add that here in America, skin color DOES matter unfortunately. Lighter skinned women are praised and darker skinned women are being disregarded. I just thought that I'd add that. It is true that the proper way to go about with any frustrations would be to consult the directors or even the artists themselves.

I don't know why a few Africans won't just let majority Europeans be the racists that they are or continue with their superstitious belief that non whites are inferior mammals. When 2 mad men are fighting or arguing, how can you distinguish between the sane and the insane?
If you're educated, you will definitely know or be expected to know that racism = ignorance of the illiterate. Racism obviously includes not accepting the look of someone else different from your ethnic origin or culture.

@AdjoaAso Breathe! Look up the word equilibrium and then you may understand what I meant by my comment. There was no racism in it what so ever. All your eyes highlighted were the word ‘white’ In some of these Ghanaian videos when they place a Caucasian in it I don’t believe their motive is to show all races enjoy their music as someone mentioned.
