Hey Mustang Mary, Gotta a question for you....Maybe I am dumb for asking this... What does it take to get to fly this small of a Jet? It looks like you've been doing it for awhile. I have a dream to get my pilots license one day.
holy mackerel...look at that speed on final...a vast majority of jet aircraft would fall out of the sky...no wonder this thing is certified for single pilot ops
@gt5004life: Tailwind? Ok, but does that explain overshooting and following very steep turn? don't take me wrong, I am not criticising... just wanna konow!
@berndl Well it depends on how strong of a crosswind.. He could probably have started turning a bit early and the turned looked like a pretty standard base to final turn. But keep in mind he has a lot to think about. Looking for traffic, completing flows etc.
@gt5004life: Looking for traffic? Not a real threat in an IFR approach... Configuration was set... not too much workload... Maybe the tailwind on base leg was a heavy cross wind on final?
@berndl Traffic is always a threat.. If you don't look out for traffic when flying around an airport you're not a good pilot regardless if you're flying IFR.. And this was his first landing in a jet as a single pilot, and this is no PA-28, so the workload is significantly higher than it would be with a 2 man crew. And of course the tailwind on bast would turn in to a crosswind on final, but he was already mis-aligned my the time he got on final.

Hey MossY, is the Mustang a truely single pilot aircraft? I been hearing some bad things about VLJ's that are single pilot rated.
