I like the curly girl method best, but I have to admit Ms La Flesh info on which brands do what, is my go to site. I don't agree with everything, but she gives good insight on what might work best or on why you might want to avoid some products. thanks for the info!!:)
Have u tried betonite clay? There r many things people mix it with. I just follow the directions and add vinegar and a lil water if it's too thick but it's really really good at clarifying . I follow it with a deep conditioner ...but it defines curls like crazy.
I've been following the Tightly Curly regimen for a year now and it really has improved the moisture balance of my hair. When I first started this regimen, I used the conditioners Terri recommended, but now I prefer selecting conditioners - especially detangling conditioners - through trial and error. Also, I don't define my curls with conditioner since my curl pattern isn't very defined. I just twist my hair after detangling.
These books compliment each other, but if had 2 buy just 1 would get Curly Girl book. Man, I tried Teri's way 1st as it was more appealing (aka cheaper). Well those silicone-friendly products did a # on my hair. Looking back at previous products, didn't realize my regimen wasn't silicone laden. So went right 2 store last week, went 4 broke & got DevaCurl No-Poo, One & Heaven in Hair. BIG difference. Guess my hair no likey lots of cones. Can't wait to see my hair in a month or so.
very good break down, i have the Curly Girl Handbook but not Terri Laflesh's book. i have watched videos about her method, but gosh, i don't think i could really do that, takes so much time!! thank you for the synopses! your daughter (?) sounds really cute!
I enjoy ur videos ...wish they were longer. Been following ur wng journey closely cuz I do want to try it. I could tell the difference wen u switched conditioners. It didn't look bad at all but ur curls were more defined in the first videos. What conditioner r u trying at this moment? It looks good. Thanks for keeping use posted. I'm getting closer to trying this method.
@msjelly360 I am still using the Tresemme naturals. My hair is still not the same. I am wondering iff I should use a clarifying shampoo and and just start over.

@cwwwwj247 I’m new to the tightly curly method, but I’m loving it so far…cheap and not as time consuming as I thought it’d be

@trini467 I would lean more towards Lorraine Massey/s books as well.
