@gocaitygo Pessimistic, considering we already have multiple methods of making interactive "air" as it were which can be (and has been) combined with this technology to make it interactive.

It uses water droplets. The water is compressed to form water to small to feel. When an image is projected onto it, it creats the hologram.

The Heliodisplay, from what I have been reading, projects an image into the air. It uses what is already in the atmosphere. The images it projects are not 3D though. Nonetheless, the thing is still cool.

actually it sorta is watch the other vids. the projector has a simple motion tracker too that can track where your hand is compared to where the projected image is. It certainly isn't anything great yet but it IS a sort of touch screen... dumbass.

these are made by io2technology ( http://www.io2technology.com/technology ). I haven't found any videos with sound yet - I suspect that the 'air modifier' (heater?) would generate some noise..
