btw guys...ZERO IS based off of protoman no matter what you say...i have the megaman X complete works and early drawings of zero look just like protoman with zero's face....he even has a shield and a long scarf with a Z on it.

If that was true, then he would've been designed AFTER X, but Zero was, INITIALLY, X. X was designed because Capcom felt people wouldn't be able to connect him to the original Rockman. But, if he was based on Blues, then he would've been designed as a supplement to X, and not as the original X.

You are right and you are wrong. Capcom wanted a new look for megaman that wouldn't make people think of the original one. Yes, this is very true. Also, Zero WAS going to be the new megaman also true. Inafune didn't even draw X...his partner did. But Inafune is known for using his early work to create new characters and he loves easter eggs. Bues/Protoman was a supplement to megaman, but even so that doesn't mean Zero has to be.

well honestly...the saber(s) from 21XX represented a commander of Hunters....this is why COMMANDER sigma(before he was maverick) had a sword in X1...that is because the game focused on when Sigma just went maverick after realizing that X's potential needed him to go maverick as he did so at his own will..anyhow, Zero got the sword after he became commander of unit 0... He has always had a buster(the Z-buster), but you have to remember..In the Zero series, Zero isn't even in his real body.

If you watch the day of sigma it shows that that isnt true....I've heard that rumor spread around youtube all over megaman X videos but the day of sigma disproves it...sigma even states that he went maverick himself because of X's "heart"...it kind of drove him crazy i think.

The "Sigma" virus is in fact, the "Zero" Virus. it is surmised that Zero, is termed zero as he is "Patient Zero" for the virus, Roboenza possibly being a prototype virus, as it is roughly the same thing. If you go by mega man on the SNES and PSX, then YES, Sigma WAS commander up until shortly after having fought Sigma where he was infected. If you go by Maverick Hunter X, then Sigma simply got too cocky out of faulty programming being a copy of X, without many of the safety features.

FURTHER MORE, Zero and X, are in fact NOT reploids, as replodis were re-creations, based upon X, X, and Zero, are both one of a kind originals. Zero having been made by Wily, and X by Light.

Copy X in the MMZ series was , in all actuality, a near perfect copy of the original X. He simply did not possess the same mental experience to make the judgments that the first X would. Originally copy X was going to be the first X, gone mad with power but, I believe MMX6(or 5) changed that.

@Dubanx This junk was nowhere NEAR the epic nature of the Megaman X series. Some of the music was good and the story plot (at parts) was OK on this so-called zero knock-off series. But I honestly feel that they took a major step down by going off on a tangent into this naruto-like world and not sticking to the X series. Also, as some other folks have clearly pointed out, the X series was supposed to end with X5. X7&X8 were just terrible. A lesson learned (I hope) from changing to bad storylines?

MMX was darker and edgier, MMZ was darker and edgier. They did an excellent job making a platformer for the experienced gamer while painting a world filled with pain and suffering. The begining of the Elf Wars, The Mother Elf(Dark Elf) took over Zero's body, but Zero's Brain Chip was in storage.
