Oh snap! He's a cosmogenist. He studies cosmogeny. Wow, way to hire a fact checker. (it's cosmologist.)

It's cosmogony. It's a real word. Someone who studies it is a cosmogonist. Cosmogony is more focus on the origin of the universe, where as cosmology deals with the origin and development.

Hmm. That does seem to be technically correct, but I've never heard of a practicing cosmogonist anywhere (and this guy is supposed to work at UC).
