Very nice dude! I like your interpretiation of Flook's interpretation, cause I really like Flook - hah, that makes sense, doesn't it? xD
Anyways, you're doing very well, there are some mistakes, but your playing the whistle half as long as me and somehow you are way better than me - tell me your secret and keep the good things coming! See you ;)
It loosely means 'Very good altogether, fair play to ya' :) 'Dia leat' literally translates as 'God to you' but is used in not such a religious context - while listening to a live song/music and it is also what you say to someone after they sneeze!
My only critque would be that on the B part of the road to errogie you always play that opening phrase the same way. while its a lovely phrase the ear picks up on it very easily and so that is an opportunity to do some variation that the audience will notice :)
Thanks for the tip. I will add some variations to the B-part. I still have quite a lot to learn from great whistle players like yourself, I guess. My technique, timing and variation skills will hopefully improve over time, as I am still quite fresh on the low whistle and flute.
they'll come in time, don't worry. My way of developing variations has always been to just sit and play the tune i'm working on for a loooong time. usually i find if i play slightly slower than i'd normally play it I can pick up on variations much easier
Funny, I was actually thinking about making a video of The Miller of Drohan, and Ceol na Mara (from the Otherworld album). Might try to combine the two. What do you think?
Sounds like a good idea. Love Drohan. I did a dirty four track of it a good while back where I covered both whistles and the flute and a little percussion. I should try and to a vid like that. I have no idea where I stashed my tracks!
It´s a good thing you forgot where you stashed your tracks. Now you can have the pleasure of re-recording it all : )
I would at least appreciate it if you do in the near future. Too bad I don´t own a Cello. It would provide the perfect bass for The Miller of Drohan and Ceol na Mara.
I bought mine from Phil Hardy when he made a few price reduced whistles - £150 a piece. He still has 2 Kerry-Pro D whistles for sale for the same cost. I know you can afford it if you just sell something you dont use anymore, as it in general is a very cheap instrument compared to others.

the first one that comes to my mind would be:
(on a D whistle) degd/egag/abba/gggd...etc.etc.
