if you hold down the 'B' button you can drift and take corners quicker ;)

The wheel is crap imo. I drive with the wiimote+nunchuk combo. The Gamecube controller is supposed to be good for Mario Kart, but I haven't tried it yet myself.

i use the gamecube controller, because i'm used to the controls since i've been playing mario kart since the gba version came out.
