o0o...well if you only been playing for a year, then you dont need to ruch into playing vibrato, although it would be good to start soon...as your teacher and she/he will tell you how. it only takes practice if your taught the right way....i was taught a wrong way [[and i play viola]] so i had to learn over agian...but then agian viola needs a much more vibrant vibrato bc its a bigger instrument

I've been trying to teach myself, but my stand partner, who already knows how to do it, says I'm doing it wrong which I know I am. When I do it, my elbow shakes. When she does it, only her hand shakes. I guess she would know since she has a private tutor. I'm gonna learn how to play cello. The crazy thing is, I can do vibrato on there.

Wow you need to do some reseach. THe smallest size violas for kids can be smaller then violin but the adult sizes are bigger then violin.
