its so ironic how every promotional interview for this album she did she talked about how she was ready to make an album that was 'Rihanna' and wasnt 'generic pop' as she called it but thats exactly what the album turned out to be and worse still most of it sounds like fillers they just threw on it to take up space.

Rated R was an amazing album and for Loud to be its successor is just ridiculous. She basically just backtracked to GGGB but added more sex.

i give it 2 out of 5 stars.

So agree. Loud is a pop album. Few gems like Man down and What's My name but it's unashamedly a pop album. I think it stung her and her team that Rated R wasn't the billion seller they expected. As you've said it was a great album. It was critically her best received album also. I think Rated R was one risk too many in Team Rihanna's eyes and thus here we are with Loud. One may agree or not but the strategic plan worked. She couldn't be anymore bigger than she is right now.
