Even in the most fundamentalistic sharia countries and with the worst offences such as adultery, women still have a right for a court and lawyer. Abuse like this also often happens in remote areas in christian countries in Africa or South America and even in the US or Europe. Afghanistan is a poor country with no law in the remote areas so it happens more often there.

I watched on Maury a man who pushed his bed in front of the bedroom door at night and if his wife had to pee, there was a mason jar for her.
