claudius deserves what messalina does to him. herod warned him not to trust her. she asked to sleep in a different room in a different palace and she asked to have silanus come to rome and marry lepida. of course messalina gets what she deserves too, but i don't feel sorry for claudius.

this is too unbelievable, we already concluded Claudius was a coward, now this blind stupidity, I remember this from 76 and think it the poorest writing of the series, but then " the husband is always the last to know"

The thing, Claudius really was the last to know. That was most poignant when Messaliana divorced him and married Gaius Sillius in public view while he was gone in Ostia.
