Oh Claudius has growing up in the vipers nest of the palace taught you nothing!! I know Love is blind and that there are none so blind than those who refuse to see but cheesh! You knew Salanis was an avowed Republican, you must have sensed something was wrong in that Messilina's love has gone cold Examine the evidence man . Very easy for me to say of course.
wow messalina you bit the hand that feed you,the one who brought you into the world, that one who picked you when you feel .i could never treat my mom like that, but this cocky little girl is proof of what happens when someone gets a hold of some power.not good.
claudius deserves what messalina does to him. herod warned him not to trust her. she asked to sleep in a different room in a different palace and she asked to have silanus come to rome and marry lepida. of course messalina gets what she deserves too, but i don't feel sorry for claudius.
this is too unbelievable, we already concluded Claudius was a coward, now this blind stupidity, I remember this from 76 and think it the poorest writing of the series, but then " the husband is always the last to know"
The thing, Claudius really was the last to know. That was most poignant when Messaliana divorced him and married Gaius Sillius in public view while he was gone in Ostia.
@richardIII3 What about the look she gives him at the end? She's angry with him because he's executing a man who tried to stab him in the back, literally.
Ah yes, pretty flower, Messalina, how your scent beguiles the heart of man, yet, within those lovely petals dwells the sting of the thorn, there to puncture the dreams of your lovers, there to pierce their soul, there to strike when the eyes are turned away...pretty flower, pretty flower, Messalina, though a thousand years may pass, time changes not your wicked mind...

It's people like Messalina that can make you feel a sense of skepticism in love

Heart rules, not! Claudius's nose is so wide open, you could drive an 18 wheeler through it. Nothing is more pitiful than a desperate old man.

I know this is a drama and not to be viewed as a history lesson, but nobody could be as dumb as Silanus, he never cottons on.

Messalina vaguely reminds me of the chick from "500 Days of Summer"

I agree. The revolt of Silanus had nothing to do with Messalina,

Oh please, why everybody in tv have to be supermodels. Let them be realistic & have normal people: it`s very rare...
