  • Mahalia Jackson is great....but Marion Williams version of this song is so emotional and spirited. Marion Williams is by far my favorite singer ever.

  • glory....glory to God Above.

  • What a glorious voice--- I am really been touched

  • I love the double clappin

  • Henrietta, Frances were cheering her on

  • Sang

Man I wish I was alive when people didnt do no cute singin

    Now its American Idol gospel

But here they werent afraid to step out the box and scream

  • @jddrew1000 couldn't agree more

  • I love this... I have only heard this song sung by Mahalia this is a heard song to pull off and this Marion Wills does so and with a great twist I love it thanks so much for posting this video....

  • Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

  • Sang Ms. Marion

  • This is Magical Marion but Mahalias brilliant contralto version breaks all barriers lol

  • Hmm, in the upper room. I just heard it now. Great post. I'm stopping by to give your 5 star ratings.

  • Stupendous. You know how to pick them! Every bit of her improvisatory genius, and the Stars are her best audience, picking up on every subtlety (example -- l:55). This is where Little Richard, James Brown, and, yes, Paul McCartney and the Beatles got their sound. Often as I've heard this, I keep hearing new elements -- that final "talking with my Jesus." One of those performances that make gospel gospel. The studio record was good but this live one is superlative!

  • lol thanks, i know what you mean about that encouragement thing. I feel like its an hold over from the days when Marion and The Stars were with the Wards. Whenever you hear the later Ward Singers, u can hear the ones not singing encouraging the the person leading the song.

  • Love it!!!

  • the sanctified double clapping woooo

  • I love that double clapping that they're doing lol. That always get's things stirred up! Is that Frances saying sing girl in the background?

  • Frances Steadman and Henrietta Waddy

  • Glorious!! Makes me want to run and shout and praise God...Time for some High Praise!!

    Thank you for posting DaSourcespr06.

  • NICE!
