  • Not to bust your balls but watching various videos like this one makes me wonder at the thinking that goes on in peoples head with contradiction? It's cool!

  • I am always amazed by people that post specific diet or weight lose videos on "YOUTUBE" that lose a couple pounds all of a sudden become experts in diet and losing weight? This is a prime example of that, she has all the answers. She's been of the Primal diet for 7 months? She could not control her intake of grains and alcohol and then has the answer of what to do when one goes off their so called diet. Sticking to it??? Perhaps you need to be honest with yourself .

  • @gooruraw I'm happy that I can continue to add to your amazement.

  • Yeah alcohol creates "brown" fat cells opposed to regular "white" fat cells, and are apparently 3 times harder to burn off.

You've inspired me to get back on a paleo diet.

  • @LazarusCato Interesting, I hadn't heard of that before. But I'm glad I could help out with a bit of inspiration! Hope things are going well for you!!

  • Do you have cravings or detox symptoms? I've noticed that when I eat grains, dairy, legumes and starchy vegetables, I am nauseous compared to when I eat a paleo meal. How often do you eat meat or seafood? You're right the SADD is a grind.

  • @rayme4raw Yeah, I get both cravings & detox symptoms. For the cravings, it really is just a rotating problem, I get overwhelming cravings for chips, chocolate, what have you. If I give in, then it just perpetuates the cycle.

And for the detox, the biggest symptom I have is I sleep A LOT when I'm cutting it out. Like 14 hours or more. One time I even had to call in sick to work because I couldn't wake up. And I can be a bit cranky, irritable, and headachey. And a bit depressed as well.

  • @jillna1977 I've been really good for the last three days, I've only been trying the Paleo Diet for the last ten days and I've noticed the sleep thing. I slept ten hours yesterday. I used to be a Raw Foodist, so most of my diet is still raw, I just add meatloaf. I'll be figuring out how to cook fish soon.

Sorry to get weird, but raw fooders also have the detox problem, we usually do enemas. I'll get flu like symptoms when I detoxing bad. Otherwise I have a lack of focus & brain fog.

  • @rayme4raw I don't get the nausea, though. You might try ginger to help deal with that.

I eat meat or seafood just about every day, even when I fall of the wagon (this wasn't the case pre-paleo, though). If I don't, then I have eggs or nut butter. I know by now that I HAVE to have protein, otherwise I just am way too sluggish all day.

  • @jillna1977 It's not true nausea that I'm feeling, after reading the Paleo Diet book and the Paleo Diet for acne sufferers book that's free online, I learned why it'a difficult for people to digest grain, legumes, dairy and starchy vegetables. After a Paleo meal, I feel fine and satisfied. A non Paleo meal leaves me stuffed and uncomfortable, like my body has to work a lot more.

I have meatloaf nearly every meal, still learning to cook. I'll have 4 ozs of walnuts or macadamia nuts a day.

  • @rayme4raw Yeah learning to cook can be an experience. I was totally intimidated when I first began cooking beef, because I did not eat it from age 13 to 28, and didn't even know how I liked it. I tend to keep things pretty simple, so that I don't overwhelm myself. I have a grill (the george forman type), that I slap my steaks on, and cook 'em up quick. For fish, I like cooking it in the oven in wine wrapped in tinfoil in a dish, with some spices. Open it up in the last 5 minutes. :)

  • @jillna1977 Exactly, I was afraid of burning the meatloaf the first time since I used grass fed ground beef and they said that it cooks faster. For meatloaf, it didn't, the recipe worked. Becoming a Raw Foodist in 2007 was crazy after a Fast Food Diet, I had to learn not to be afraid of making a mess. Cleaning up as you go is crucial. I'll try cooking a fish in tinfoil in the oven this week:)

  • @rayme4raw I should put that fish recipe up on my blog. I'm going to try to put more paleo recipes up, one of these days...

  • @jillna1977 Oh good:)

  • @rayme4raw I've put the recipe up! You can find it at paleolady . com, I tried to put the full link up here, but youtube is not letting me.
