Awesome. This sounds so natural on a steel string guitar. And this version is nearly identical - 98% to what Mason Williams plays on his "Handmade" album 40 years ago. Of all printed sheet music of the solo guitar version, this is the closest to that version.

One discrepancy I must note: At 2:27 your ascending chord sounds like an em7, and it should instead be an inverted D9 chord. That's it. Otherwise, flawless on every other level!

idk i had the "clapton" version as well. an its played the way u just played it. i learned it by the clapton version. not sure if it was really clapton or mason williams in that recording, but i know which one you learned off of, cuz its the same exact layout that i learned it. fun as hell song to play right? i am missing a couple parts of it but u figured it out. i'll let u be the perfectionist :-P. but yeah i can play it too, i was very surprised to see this on ur vids. cool man!

Good stuff man, this is one of my favorite songs. I used to think that it was Clapton as well. I think it was on some movie soundtrack or something that Clapton played the majority of; hence the assumption. I might be wrong. either way I dig it. Keep you'r ear for more of my recordings, I have't really had time to do too much with them yet and I have to tweak my last song, not crazy about some of the timing (actually made a good chunk of it up on the spot, oh well).
