  • Legal in Nyc, id jump off the 30 Rock buildin!

  • Crankin' and bankin'! Nice!!!

  • I like to Hang Glide too.

  • Dude, you rock. I absolutely loved what you did and I know from personal experience that when you're hooked in things look differently to you than they do for outsiders. Laminar air rules! It is hard to explain the feeling to those that never tried this. You feel alive and there is very hard to put a price tag on that one.

  • I personally think i will stick to commercial aircraft when i feel the need to fly. I just know i used a hang glider it could be the end of me is somethign goes wrong

  • your totally reckless.Stuff like this only fools do.I would never fly one of these contraptions and anybody who does is a fool.

  • @69NOMAN69 they are not fools, your just a pussy. "you are most alive, when you are (you feel) closest to death" What do you care anyway? It's not your life, life without risks would be boring, leave people be. One thing for sure is that they are having more fun than you!

  • @metalmaniacemg It was a joke dude...You missed it. The pussy you speak of is far from when armed with a wing. He flies with the safety always OFF.

  • OB-Nicely done! Of course the comments are spattered with the typical internet bashing and hating, but for the most part it's looking like this video inspired multiple people around the world to hang glide.

  • Holy shit! You are ballsy! Was there not much wind that day?

  • i do HG for 4 years , i think this guy simply push the limits, he's very good professionnal pilot and has not fear of flying with speed at low altitude, the flying is symbol of freedom, so it's up to him !

  • This video inspired me to learn how to hang glide. I'm now an H3 with my own wing and 40hrs of airtime. Thanks for the video :)

  • What's the song in this video? I really like it!

  • Sensational vid mate - awesome control! Love it!

  • All i can say to this is epic! Im just getting into the sport. All I have left is my written test and I will have my hang 1 (going for it this saturday). I will pass and immediately will start my hang 2 the next day. This video is what im talking about... I havnt even got my hang 1 yet and this sport has taken over my life!! Seeing the amazing maneuvers that can be achieved here is mindblowing... I want to do it so bad, and will in the very near future! Watch out for outback hangman :) YOU ROCK!

  • @73outback lol on a quick note after reading some of the comments... OB you say? hmmm my mates call me OB, short for OutBack... is that a sign?!?! hah ;)

  • I started flying when I was 15, I'm now 55. There are old pilots and dead pilots' I'm happy with old...

Mate' slow down and give yourself a bit more room' have some respect for others that are in the air with you, stop and think about it...I' like thousands of other pilots around the world' can fly like that too' but we don't because its really dangerous. If you want to post a video' that will really impress me and many others, then try a 300km XC' like the boy's at the Flatlands this year.

  • @hubee57 thousands of other pilots around the world and you 'hubee55' can not fly like OB in this video. Only a few can. The flying in this video is not dangerous, it is very entertaining. The true reason you object is that your fears prevent you from flying like this and you are sadly bitter and jealous that others do.

The man in this video is very accomplished at XC flying also, including Forbes where "the boys" flew 300km.

What have you done in your 40 years flying?

  • I'm jealous of your capability, and I want to try hang gliding some time. It looks like so much fun...

  • Great vid, watched it more times than I can remember. Keep on flying...your experience shows your proficiency. For all those other HG pilots complaining about the near misses...keep in mind cams distort the closeness of the real distance one sees with their own eyes. It looks closer than you percieve much like side mirrors on cars!

  • I don't know anything about hang gliding, but I have to agree with @pleximode1. Deliberately doing near misses on people seems like bad policy, and I'll bet all of the people in this video were furious. (I know I would have been.)

  • Great video and music to match!

  • Pratt

  • The best so far !

  • I envy you mate!!!

  • I cannot find a better hangliding video on the net. Awesome stuff!!! Keep charging

  • Very cool video. Any Utah places you can recommend for lessons?

  • @ecuadmail go to birdmanacademy(DOT)net for hang gliding info for lessons at the place in this video.

  • this is the type of video that you will let it play all day long on a flat screen tv in your livingroom. great video, grate music, great hang gliding....great job man :)

  • hey man! awesome video!! my fav hang gliding vid on youtube for sure. can you tell me the name of the song?

  • In a word, "sweet" flying and video. It's been 10+ years since flying Utah. Nicely done!

  • dat landing! my landings are shitty, and im on a falcon... =[

  • top upload - your video was the best! you are star.

  • This is amazing! Great control! I would like to try one day:)

  • I wish you where my friend!!! this is an awesome vid! I hope to learn how to do this someday soon. also the backgroud music is really cool. back in Chicago we call it deep house or lounge. thanks very much for this clip, instant fan made!

  • So, as a HG no-nothing, I have to ask you.

What is the purpose of the sack you put your legs in? Can you fly without it?

  • lol you must of made those pg pilots shit themselves, I would honestly be pissed of someone flew that close over me though. But I'm taking up HG lessons in a few weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the video cant flippin wait !

  • sick vid dude!!

  • too much mardi gras. not enough of something like this. must go at least once in my life.

  • Sure, showing off! But you have to admit, he must live in that thing to be so smooth. Awesome take off's on the base bar, and that final landing!! What can you say. I must agree, the low pass over the parasail would upset a lot of people including myself if I was him, but everything else was brilliant. I aspire to be that good!! Well Done.

  • Excellent...a pleasure to watch. Come fly Steamboat with us sometime.

  • Was that the actual speed?!

  • Man you are born to fly. Nice music too

Just starting hang gliding. Deam i should find out this sport earlier.

    Greedings from Greece

  • @peterustinof This video gave me the final push to start hang-gliding, here in greece too. Now i m very near to my 1st real flight, cant wait!!

  • awesome video, like how you capture all the angle on your camera, lol flying over those paragliders,...sweet.

  • Cool video, yes, responsible flying no. Overflying a paraglider on launch or when he is airborne (at :38) is not cool. Your wake turbulence will cause a collapse of the paraglider wing particularly flying so close, causing a loss of control for the pilot with no height to recover. I've had a collapse due to wake turbulence, it's not fun. Please fly a little more responsibly on a sight with mixed aircraft.

  • @Lensecap Dude.. if your scared of collapses, then get on a hang glider or stay on the ground! If your any good then a collapse from wake turbulence shouldnt bother you, anyway over flying him like he did wouldnt cause anything to happen. You should be more worried about another PG flying in front of you, if your scared of wake turbulence. The guy on the PG is probably his mate and is all for it. Stay on the ground!!

  • @callum22 "Dude", articles you should read: Good article on Wake Turbulence at airservicesaustralia - Rules for flying in Utah State Parks - FAA Regulation 91 - International Rules of Soaring adopted by USHGA - USHPA website article on Ridge Soaring - But don't take my word for it, send USHPA the link for this video and mention your comments and ask for their thoughts on this subject. It's just good airmanship. All references can be found on Google. Kind regards Lensecap.

  • @Lensecap hey bro, why dont you post what you just emailed me on here, for everyone to see??? Is it because you dont want everyone to see what a little rule finding homo you really are?? I cant wait for the day your in the air the same day and place as me.. im going to scare the crap out of you. Then you can go running to your rule books and your mum!!!

  • Dear @callum22 "Dude", I would have been delighted to post my response, unfortunately YouTube does not allow any comments to include URL links in the text. However, I wanted to share the information with you concerning low flying, airmanship and flying site regulations. We all enjoy this free form of flight, but we have rules and regulations to not only ensure the safety of ourselves, but also other people we are sharing the sky with as well as those on the ground. Kind Regards, Lensecap

  • @Lensecap "Homo" thanks for your reply. Had a read up of the rules, got to know them to break them aye... We all fly low level, that is just the nature of the sports, we dont need, rule quoting, sky police like you, to point out whats right and wrong. Have your opinion yes, but dont point fingers and crap on about wake turbulence and low flying, when you werent there or know the circumstances. Like i said the PG's may love that shit....my mates do! see you in the air...

  • @callum22 "Dude" In closing, if you were a pilot, you wouldn't need to read up on the rules, you would know them, they are standard, but it's also called respect for fellow aviators. I've never heard such disregard for 'Rules of the Air' from a fellow pilot, anywhere. I can only assume from your comments and profile you must be one of the sad people who trawl YouTube for videos where you enjoy leaving derogatory remarks. You really should get out and try flying, its fun. Kind regards Lensecap

  • @Lensecap hang on, aren't you the one who trawls youtube leaving dumb arse comments about what other people are up to? looks like it to me. I can only assume from your profile, that you are a inexperienced pilot who is actually scared of flying and lives a life ruled by rules, and just loves to strut around telling people off for having fun, just because they are flying outside your comfort level. Flying is fun, its awesome in fact, trust me i know....kind regards

  • 1:14 wtf flying penis

  • @ Pleximode1: Sooo... Ur another one of "those guys" huh? One of those guys who go about the sport at your comfort level and believe anyone who acts outside of your comfort level is reckless and endangering. Not everyone is on the same performance curve. I caught crap through out my skydiving career by ppl like you and I turned out just fine and never injured a single person. If anything, I've strengthened the sport by attracting my friends to the sport.

  • now that im more experienced in hang gliding, and after I flew south side, I see how dangerous this low flying is.

But this video is still one of my favorites and I hope one day I have your skill !

  • Comment removed

  • Well I'm an old hand, and I'm impressed. There's nothing radical here, just a lot of speed close to the ground, which you can reconvert to height any time - and it obviously wasn't very thermic, or it would be a different story...

  • looks fuckign fun :)

  • Good flying! Nice video vith nice cool sothering music!!

    NICE DONE!!

oh..that paraglider (Elephant Libresse) pilot probably wasent too happy! XD

  • Great video, great skill. Love it :-)

  • i wanna go hang gliding off hurricane pass up in the tetons i went there a few weeks ago and its looks like the perfect spot to jump from

  • Best Video Ever Now I Wanna Hang Glide!!!!!

  • are they really light because it lookes easy to hold up when you take off

  • wow.. that looks like so much fun

  • how many days of the year is it this smooth at the point, for this kind of flying???????

Or is it a time of day thing?

  • wow thats extreme

  • I live in orem and I've seen a lot of paragliders at the point, but now now on my way to salt lake I'll keep my eyes peeled for this aeronaut!

  • do a barrel roll

  • Beautiful landings.

  • Fantastic video, this is what flying is all about - fun and freedom. Ignore Pleximode1's comments, people like this are far too risk and fun averse to enjoy this kind of flying. May I ask what glider this is? I own a Scandall 14.4.

  • The gratest VIDEO clip ever!

  • Awesome track, brilliant. I want to get into this and this video will capture my lady friend too. Apart from the really low bits, no desire for that mate, That would be some serious road rash if you touched down. Try digging and filling a bucket with dirt next time, it'd be hilarious, you know about mid way in.

  • haha yea they all got there feathers ruffled when i attached my paintball rig to my wing... great video man..

  • @courtni522 Have always wanted to do that...everyone has a different color..and score hits..literally. That was about 22 yrs ago when paint ball was ..takin off. Was telling arron swepston how i wanted to do the down hill racing thru pylons first, at summer ski resorts...and he told me it would never happen, cause it was to dangerous and someone was going to get killed. Then told him about the paintball thing..and he told me i was "really a crazed maniac" and that also would never happen.

  • Sick vid and style in your flying. Great track to go with it. Keep it up.

  • Great footage, well done! This must be the very best HG footage I've seen - great to see the speed and low level flying. Re: pleximode1... thanks for risking your life and others to make such a great video ;)

  • insane video, how hard is this to pull off

  • Props

  • hang man i dont belive what pleximode 1 is sayng, personally for me u the man nice video and i hoppe u live long as u wish

  • Regardless the sad comment from pleximode1, this video makes me want to get my licence and be a HG pilot even more than before.

I don't really think it was that exteme HG. I recently had my first tandem flight in Interlaken (thanks to extremeBernie: Enrique speaking here) and the wingovers where about the same.

It's an awesome experience that I hope to be able to do by myself one day soon.

@Hangman360: This video is great for HG. Keep up the cool stuff and great flights.

  • exelente pilot pleased be carefulll!!!!!

  • Really suprised at Pleximode's comments..The flying isn't that extreme! Really nice filming with great swoops..I've been flying for 25+ years and I can say I was impressed!! Keep it up hangman!! really enjoyed the filming and the only fool here is Plex's comments...

  • I don't know... Examples of controlled "hotdog" flying might bring the extreme back to the sport...as welll as new pilots to a sport with dwindling numbers...I'm inpsired to work on my skills because of videos like this....my videos are usually of what not to do when flying..lol

  • You've obviously not been to a beach soaring site or a speed gliding comp...

  • thank you for making hang gliding look cool again. seriously.

  • This might impress HG newbies, but to old hands in HG you're just a reckless fool, endangering others lives. This sort of Hotdog showoff flying is what gives HG a bad name. I'll be surprised if you're still alive in a year or two.

  • @pleximode1 Unfortunate you feel that way.

  • @hangman360 ciao nice to meet you , i' am flying from 1 year and as soon as possible i will fly your way - take AIR

  • @hangman360 He's right. This is pretty reckless...

  • @hangman360 Not everyone can appreciatate the youthful spirit with wich we fly, to me quality of life is more important than quantity of life. Awesome video by the way! thats the hill where i learned to fly under Dave Sharps instuction 15 years ago. brings back fond memories.

  • @hangman360 you rock man, keep up the good flying and film work! I hope to fly the point some day.

  • @hangman360 not quite. I feel the same. If you want to kill yourself, let it be, but be careful with others lives. I don't want to offender you, just to make you realize that I want to fly more than a few days, but until I got old, I guess like you ;) I wish you good winds.

  • @hangman360 beautiful man!!!! I fly and you are good! great stuff. cheers

  • @pleximode1 ... Hey my friend... HG hasnt a bad name. We still do have relativley few accidents. Ive been flying around 10 years now and I think you have to take it for what it is... I still enjoy a bit of Hotdogging... Dont you?... Happy flying anyway

  • @pleximode1 lol at that one... dude, relax. I'm pretty sure this competition pilot knows what he's doing! Awesome video by the way!

  • @pleximode1 it impress all who knows how difficoult it is ,to become such a greate pilot,he is playing hang glider in the way you never done and never gona do.

    so keep watching and dreaming-boy

  • @pleximode1 ...sheeesh..ive flown/flew like this for over 30+yrs. Have always goten crap from the h.g. community. Have had rocks and beer bottles thrown at me and even attacked in the air. My video here was flagged inappropriate 120+ times and taken off, till utube reviewed it and put it back...and only about 150 views. Wonder how that happened...come-unatie?

  • @pleximode1 you just don't know how to enjoy good fun hang gliding. i thought this was to live on the edge. the guy was just having fun and just wanted to show you how awesome he is, more awesome than you will ever be.

  • @pleximode1 The guy was just having fun. i thought hang gliding was for real people to live on the edge. he was just showing the world how awesome he is at hang gliding, and to show he's more awesome than you will ever be. i enjoy hang gliding, and its obvious that you don't.

  • @pleximode1 your right. if you cant get enough joy out of HG itself whats the point.

  • @hiohoh If you can get more joy out of it, then why the hell not?

  • Comment removed

  • @pleximode1 You sound like Ice Man from Top Gun.

  • @pleximode1 I will bet that he lives a lot longer and more fulfilled life than you pleximode1 you poor sad little thing.

  • @pleximode1 These people fly for fun, and have the ability, the skill, the will and the guts to push things forward and outside the envelope, they help build the sport, and push it to its limits. This man lives and breathes hang gliding, and you sir obviously live a very dull and boring safe and secure life inside your comfort zone, and that is reflected in everything you do, including commenting videos on YT. So please go and seek attention somewhere else, you do not belong here.

  • @pleximode1 hes not endangering anybody u idiot. he flew over the bystanders... fly-bys dangit hes better than ull ever be.

  • @pleximode1 OH NOES! someone is better than you.

  • @pleximode1 If he only flys like this around other lie minded pilots then whats the problem? You sound like the kind of guy that could manage suck the fun out of a three way Scarlet Johanson & Jessica Alba. Live a little eh?

  • @pleximode1 If he only flys like this around other like minded pilots then whats the problem? You sound like the kind of guy that could manage suck the fun out of a three way Scarlet Johanson & Jessica Alba. Live a little eh?

  • @pleximode1 Haha, ok whatever! The only reason you even have Hang Gliding is because of "reckless fools" and "hot dog showoffs". The only reason there are advances in anything is because of research, and research is done by pushing the limit and trying new things out. That's the only reason there is anything good in today's world. There is such a thing as diversity in this world, there are "hotdog showoffs", and there are boring people. Just grow a pair and ACCEPT that this actually happened!

  • Completely amazing! Great flying and awesome song.

  • are you still alive?

  • Nice!!!

  • Nice! Can you upload HD please?

  • Thanks very much! I think an important aspect of what makes this such a great vidio is actualy the shadow on the ground. Of course it would be nothing without the daring flying, great music, sky,sun etc, etc. Novice pilot Spring chicken

  • Nice flying! Great vid.I gotta say you were showin' off a bit. Nice.

  • Thanks for the video- by far the best one I've seen on here so far. I'm trying to get into the sport, and this is the sort of thing that keeps me inspired.

  • that looks very nice!

  • Beautiful landing

  • Very inspirational!! Perhaps one day I'll be this good

  • now thats a pilot!!!

  • I`m going hangliding for the 1st time one day this year, but would it be possible to rig up and operate the shutter of my nikon dslr mounted on a boom?

  • Sure. Not on your first flight though.

  • Credit due to someone who has obviously pushed their limits an clearly enjoys their art

  • Too f'ing cool!!! Thanks for making it.

  • Too f'ing cool!!! Thanks

  • I'll never get tierd of this clip - awsome flying and great tune for the ride.

  • Thank you so much Kitkat224

    My best regards!

    Fernando.

  • One of the best movies, what a great pilot,

  • Your imagination, your art. Brilliant.

  • Yeah dude, one of the best shows, thanks man.

  • Looks likes youre having alot of fun! Your vid made me happy aswell!

  • Nice really nice...! I really enjoyed the video.

  • Great Vid!

Keep them coming ! And for the short sighted paragliding dumb asses, He passes OVER it NOT in FRONT !

  • Yeah Hangman!Everithing in its place:1)para-f#cking-gliders grounded;2)the ignorants:Oh my gooood!!!!3)Hg pilots:awsome!!!

    Go for it!!

    Take care,we want you alive!!!!

  • O oooo... man you are endengering your life and some one else.

  • I think the music made this video even better! Well done Jeff. I aspire to fly with that much grace thanks for the flight.

  • You know that if the FAA gets this video you will find yourself in big trouble.

Don't video tape, and make public, scenes where you are buzzing people or occupied vehicles.

Great flying though. POM is a funky place.

  • Comment removed

  • In response to Amper502's comment, FAA regulations state that you must maintain 500' separation from any person, property, or vessel EXCEPT during takeoffs and landings. Can't you see he was simply trying to land every time he was close to the vehicles and people.

  • At 1:52, 2:06 that is a landing attempt? You will have a hard time proving that. In fact the video proves just the opposite as you can see the actual landing attempt was flown quite differently from the rest of the flight.

Your preaching to the choir as well. If I was there flying I would probably be flying in a similar fashion.

  • Amper your sarcasm detector seems inop

  • Oh wow! Very, very good video.

  • Sexy !!!

  • Very nice!

    I like a lot.

    Bravo

    ciao

  • Thank you.

  • AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!

What more can you say, Loved the video and can't wait to see your next one. I'm also looking into getting a GoPro. Happy flying

  • That is just AWESOME! Great footage and music. Hope to be as good as you ....one day! Keep it up.

  • AS you must know by now..thats my kinda flying..i started when it was called "ground skimming"...

will be seeinya in mid oct. hope there will be some good winds there then!!! Man i love that smooth air!!!!
