  • What you have to understand about this is that it is in slow motion. In actuality, airbags deploy at speeds up to 2,600 fps. (We know because we measured it). It's like being hit with a sledge hammer. If that dummy had been a person, that person would be very dead.

  • it is vary strong

    i like tt

  • this is why i don't buy hyundais or kias... how can the airbag deploy late seriously... they had airbags 25 + years ago that deploy at the right time

  • damn thats not cool. i just bought an used one to

  • my dad had a 00 sonata and it got hit from the back like at 60 and had2 be towed away ever since Honda n Subaru all the way hyundais are weak no matter wat they say

  • @duhabcdef um any car being hit a 60mph would have to be towed away. Hello??

  • no not 60mph 60km duh if it was 60mph=90km i think i probly would be dead or a veggie

  • Wow, you all suck. Can't take a joke. Yeesh. I'm going over to Davidsfarm where cars crashing is meant to be funny.

  • above me? the fuck is that suppost to mean? nd grow up with that FAIL shit u sound like a damn 8 yearold. why the fuck should i care whats japanese and whats chinese? they're all made out of aluminum and are given away for quarters a month,, which doesn't really mean they're good.

  • 2001..... ? ...

The Elantra has developed to update 3times in 10years

  • you are always safer in a benz

  • You're all idiots! My tricycle is the best! While you're out crashing your cars and polluting the environment, I'm pedaling as fast as my little heart can muster to get to work on time! It's safe, it's durable, saving trees and animals, and it gets GREAT gas mileage! So, fuck all ya'll. Nyah! Dun dun dun DUN! Tricycle Man away!

  • ouch that hurts. y dont u take a big one in ur mouth since its cool.

  • FAIL!!!!!!

  • wrong again. i prefer german engineering. hundai kia suzuki SUCK!

  • Hyundai has gotten fantastic.

  • wow u must have hit your head on your steering wheel of ur hundai.

  • Yes,the elantra`s were recaaled by hyundai, but the Santa Fe arent. The new santa fe has a known problem with the side curtain airbag and it is not fix still, 2 years after euroNCAP told hyundai about the issue. Im am dissapointed and as an owner of a SF i am a bit scared about WHAT IF...

  • This was fixed under recall. No harm, no foul. This is what the IIHS is for.

  • Airbags are great if they deploy. I owed a 2006 Hyundai elantra and the Driver side side airbags did not deploy. The driver door came in about a foot. I have pictures if anyone has questions

  • air bags hurt so bad

  • mines been hit by deer 3 times and 4th time it was rear ended it doesnt even have a scratch there durable unlesss your on the highway and get hit you wont need the air bag

  • thats what tests are used for. An airbag saved my life when I was hit.

  • That is an old model, and if you can see, 2 cars of the same models, the first one got airbag problems and the second one did not. Anyways, the new Elantra is way safer.

  • my dad had an accident last year: front collison, he was in elantra and as he says he even didn't feel that much anything, even airbags didn't open

the other car was chevrolet malibu as i remember, and it wasn't able to be used aymore...

  • i wouldn't like to be in there...

  • If i were that Crash Test Dummy i would sue Hyundai

  • Luckily, that dummy doesn't live in the US.

    Imagine if everybody sued everyone!?!?

  • It's soo weird that the side airbag was

perfect in timing and the frontal

    airbag wasn't! ahha

  • is the company know that

  • owie and i know first hand those airbags hurt

  • Good grief! Ever tried punctuation?

  • sorry. that was old model.

did you see 2007 model of elantra.

according to IIHS, all "good" perfect score.

  • 40 mph are the standard crash tests speeds for euro ncap so im told

  • .. at what speeds are these tests?

  • 40mph

  • I thought my text posted? Testing...

  • lol it looked like a homemade airbag that consisted of someones bed sheet. This is a poor representation of the saftey of Hyundai Elantras, especially now. See newer crashtests, Hyundais have some of the safest features- from front, side, and even side curtain airbags; and they come standard! Hell, my Toyota Corolla doesn't even have those standards, they are costly options. And when life is at cost, I will buy a Hyundai next.

  • @Machiavelli1513 Lots of cars come standard with side curtain airbags...

  • that airbag is a shit¡

  • the side torso airbag came out slower than normal, in a side impact collision it wouldve inflated at normal speeds, but since this was a frontal collison it came out gradually to provide sufficient stiffness to protect the driver from hitting the pillar

  • too bad the front airbag didnt come out

  • Ouch,damn Korea!

    Jkjk

  • Structurally, it did quite well, but the airbags deploy too late on these cars, so it's a major safety hazard in an accident. If it weren't for that, I'd consider buying one.

  • This is not the 2007, but the 2002-2006 model.

  • very nice death car!!

  • Woah that was way too late. There was like a 5 second delay. LOL
