@chikenadobo If the cheetah uniformly accelerated to run 3 seconds, the cheetah's final velocity would have to be 240kph. Obviously it's acceleration is much better but let's be real here. No animal is averaging 120kph in 100 meters, and no Cheetahs in captivity (stronger and faster) have ran over 120 kph. That means you're telling me that a cheetah can accelerate to 120 kph and then proceed to go faster possibly 50-100 kph more to run 3 seconds. Learn common sense.

While you are right that it would take the cheetah a little while to reach 120km/h compared to the human, if you were to take acceleration into account, it would still be able to do 100 metres in 3.8 to 4 seconds. But, we are talking about top speed here, not acceleration. Usian Bolt at top speed = 9.58, cheetah at top speed = 3.
