  • @rorrt Music is NEVER wasted on Children.

  • All kinds of awesome! The fact that a legend was humble enough to play music with freaking puppets, makes him more legendary to me!

  • I first saw Ray Charles on Sesame Street.

  • I have to say, that this really is wasted on children...

  • @rorrt It would have been a waste only if Elmo had been there instead of Ernie and Bert. But since he didn't show up in this clip, I liked it. :)

  • what's the original version of it because i can't find it...?

  • g, ya think fox mccloud would watch this?

  • Good.

  • Bert's bass solo is awesome!

Man, I wish Ray Charles was still alive ... such a great personality!

  • love this video wit ray charles

  • Bert is a lefty!

  • RIP

  • Quality television

  • I knew I loved sesame street for a reason.

  • I lost my shit at Bert's laugh at the end.

  • 10 people don't have a song to sing. But 801 do.

  • very nice!

i would like to play it... but which chords are used??

  • the way Bert laughs! lmao

  • Shortest bass solo ever!

  • @SaturnTrack

    Uhu HuU !!

  • That man could bring a smile to any face, he's just so passionate and sincere.

  • i remember hearing this when i was a kid and crying cause Ray can just touch your heart in no way anyone else can.

  • I love that Ernie plays with traditional grip.

  • "Oh, I am prepared to WAIL, Ray!"

    Freaking awesome! XD

  • Cierto lo de las 9 personas.

  • @ambyleeful It's Ernie.

  • What an amazing voice. So much soul.

  • I Love Ray!!

  • fuck the job centre -I'm watching this all day

  • bert is playing left hand guitar, but can still bust out a bass solo like a badass

  • @imover1872 lol, yeah. Of course, all sesame street guitarist characters played left handed, the real reason being that the puppeteer needed to use their right arm to operate the puppet's head and body.

  • i watch this nearly everyday just to make feel like smiling and laughing x

  • "Oh, I am prepared to wail, Ray." I LOVE BERT!

  • Brother Ray!

Ray: "Well are you ready Bert?" Bert: "Oh I am prepared to wail Ray" haha!

  • Sesame Street was my first exposure to Ray Charles. When he passed away I still only knew him as the guy with the sunglasses on Sesame Street. RIP Ray

  • @groundedsax that's sad...it's good that you were exposed to the genius of Ray Charles, but sad that's all you knew of him was on Sesame Street. Hopefully, you know more now. Right?

  • @Lionel4482 Hahahaha of course! I was like nine when he died though.

  • I Loved Ray losing control at the end. Even he can't stay cool with B&E.

  • RIP !

  • catchiest thing all day

  • is that song writte for this episode or did exist already before ?

  • i blinked and missed the bass solo

  • @Dartwith DUDE you have to teach me how to hear with my eyes

  • @Dartwith

    "Take it away Bert!"

  • who whish his was still alive, thumb this up

  • @psoaresmd I've only got two thumbs :(

  • @1992daan I feel you man, I really do. I love him, he is such a genious and a inspiration in all aspects

  • @psoaresmd Best artist ever. He made jazz, country, blues, soul, pop... And I know for sure, if he would have wanted to make boogiewoogie, classical music or hip hop, he'd succeed :)

  • @1992daan Even if he wanted to be an ice-cream salesman he'd succeed. He's the very best :)

  • when sesamestreet was an awesome show to watch... lol good times good times.. rest well jim :)

  • Ray is a cool cat.

  • Woaw, they don't make 'em like that anymore.

  • Man, can Bert and Ernie SCAT?! :D

And also, HOW COULD YOU DISLIKE THIS?!

  • i wish everyone in the world was blind like ray charles... then maybe we could all accept one another and be happy

  • a lot of kids grew up in bad times and bad neighbourhoods. i'm sure a lotta them enjoyed sesame street just like we did. if only sesame street could cure a lotta of the worlds social ills.

  • R.I.P. Ray, we'll miss you, and you're music had so much more life and soul than anything that comes out today in music. Wish someone like him would be around today in music.

He was one of the best musical guest appearances on this show, in my opinion.

  • how old is this 1?

  • @steventean 33 years according to the Muppet Wiki (originally appearing in 1977)

  • omg bert is left handed?

  • @squallstrife123

for some reason, it was easier for the puppeteers to operate the Muppets that way. Whenever one of them plays a guitar or whatever, it's always left-handed. And don't even get me started on all the things wrong with how it looks when they play an upright bass.

  • Try telling that to the millions of fans he has around the world. He's won countless awards and has even been knighted for his contribution to rock and roll.

  • Good song!

    lol RIP Ray

  • I dont cair....Ernie and Bert are and will always be my favorite TV gay couple!!

  • was ray addicted to heroin when he did that?

imagine him back then in the middle of the performance having a sudden sober, lol

  • Class.

  • Lol, I love it how Ray Charles is cracking up in the background towards the end of the song! XD

  • Sure wish you were still alive, Ray. You would have shown all of these so called "artists" of popular music and R&B what it meant to have soul. Rest in Peace and God bless you.

  • Ahh Ray like no other man God Bless him

  • bass solo "do doot da doot"

  • Rest in peace, Brother Ray. Absolutely amazing, even on Sesame Street =D

  • @50033836 "Well let's deal with it then!" How can one man contain so much cool. Not even Chuck Norris cannot match up to the coolness of Ray Charles.

  • @50033836 What about Billy Joel, Elton John, or Paul McCartney? They're all great muscians worthy of comparison with Ray Charles.

  • @ukno918 did u just say elton john u prick!!!!!!!

  • @midget12roy What's wrong with Elton John?

  • @ukno918 he's shite

  • @midget12roy is shite

  • @midget12roy @midget12ro is shite, if you're going to comment make it worth reading.

  • I can't find this song on any album or anything, was this song composed specifically for sesame street?? If so that makes this song 100x better than it already is.

  • Definitely. i wanted to download it, but i couldn't find it anywhere. It has that beautiful, timeless quality....

  • I agree. It's music for a children's show, but it isn't kiddie music.

  • I second that.

  • @mohinderbauer Like the jokes are enjoyable too for all ages.

  • This proves it without a doubt, Ray Charles sang with everybody!

  • @bigjohnsix99 Everybody prepared to wail <3 ;o)#
