  • i think many of you don´t know much about the nature of horses. a mare in the wild has every year a foal, she get covered a few days after birth in the so called "foal - heat". the newborn foal is all the time by her side and at least every stallion won´t kill a foal just to breed with the mother or for fun. before some of you posting a comment please try to learn something about non-human life-forms!

  • i don´t like this the foal is not a year old an than must make the next?! the foal need the mother and the mother need a break the birth from the foal must stressful enough i hate this i think that is not good for horses

  • It's common for mares on stud farms to have one foal every year. Few days after giving birth the mare is in heat again. It's the same in the wild nature. Since it is too dangerous for the foal to roam around freely it is either locked up in the box or kept away for the time being like shown in this video.

  • Que raza de caballo son???????

  • Que raza de caballo son???????

  • I am not sure if you know much about race horses but you have to hold a foal when the mother is being bred. It doesn't hurt the foal or detriment his future. It is just simply a procedure that needs to be done to keep the mare and foal safe while the stallion has to do "live breeding".

  • I sort of feel sorry for the broodmares in general, they dont get a break from having foals/colts, they're pretty much railroaded into having them.

  • just remember though, that in the wild, mares will have a foal every year. pretty much every time they come into season. see what you mean about them never having a break though... i'd give them a year imbetween at the very least!!

  • it is not harmful for a mare to get pregnant while she has a baby by her side, it's done all the time (even in wild horses)

and we "interfere" because registered horses are very expensive and can get injured while mating. The mare can kick the stallion damaging his ability to continue being a stud; the mare can get infections, etc...

  • If a mare has a foal she can be bred back in 10 days to have another in 11 months. Called a 10 day foal heat..

  • 子馬が見ちゃってる・・・

    子馬はあれの意味を知らないからね。

  • Mean people! Your making the horses mate while the mare still has a foal!? JERK!

  • It is called breeding, the mare goes into heat when her foal is about 3-4 months old and the foal will be totally weaned usually by about 8 months old. So the foal is not separated at breeding time. The mare will foal again anywhere between 11-12 months after she is covered. The foal is restrained in the video because the stallion will sometimes attack the foal or accidently strike the foal while he is breeding the mare.

  • yeah, most breeders suck- they never think about the animal- or give them a much needed break from being a baby farm. I am a woman and I can get pregnant right after giving birth as well-but most of us choose to take a break..

  • Mares actually come into heat 8-10 days after giving birth and then every 18 days until they conceive. Its a fact of nature.

  • 馬でも賢者モードになるんだ・・・

  • 仔馬ワロタ

  • 終わった後の悟りの境地は馬も一緒なんだな...

  • poor horses, forced to F*CK!

  • povre poulain

  • He busted a fatty

  • i think its awful that the world of horses involves mating them then taking away there babies to be honest anyone involved in this practise is cruel.

  • If a merr has a foal, its to urly to have an other one.

  • the mare would probably panic if her foal was taken away

  • Well, this is the best stalion station in Japan. They have most famos stalions.

Why peaple say about foal so much? what is wrong with it? It is nomal in Japan to take foals to there. Because foals can not stay without mom. Mere are coming from other farm too...

Do you guys know about breeding? this is real at breeding farm.

  • okay 2 people below me i cant read that... but really why would they even keep the foal there while its happening? Mare is fine there but that was a unprofessional breeding process.

  • 違う

    この牝馬の仔馬だお

  • いやらしいやつだ

  • Why is there a foal even there?

  • the foal and mare will panic if the foal is separated this early.

  • The stallion is obviously young, as he hasn't learned to 'tease up' yet. The mare is supposed to be teased, so that she stales (passes a straw coloured urine). The foal handler is trying to prevent the foal from being injured by keeping it away, but usually there are more..shall we say, professional ways of restraining the foal. overall, not a very professional covering.

  • thats kind o wot happens, u mate th mare with a foal at foot as shes back in season, its commen practice

  • This is Heart's Cry.

  • theses people are bad!all the foal wants is its mom!get another mare gosh!

  • 41921

  • All these little people with speceific jobs..

The stallion holder, the mare holder, the cockholder, the cockwasher.. and all with colorful stupid little hats.. like a battle ship

  • those stupid little hats prevent them from getting injuries if they get kicked in the head

  • So, bottom line here, because money all revolves around efficiency, this was a perfect example of a very quick well managed breeding. Sadly, ALL animals engage in courtship---and this type of breeding robs BOTH mare and stallion of their natural courtship--so, mares are forced to submit simply because they are about to ovulate, and stallion's, with their huge libido, turn into efficient but unatural "fuck-machines", regardless of whether the mare likes him or not!

  • In pasture-breedings, after a stallion talked to, nuzzled, and nipped the mare, he would assess her state of receptivity. If all was well, he would usually bump her rump with his shoulders, and if she stayed in the squatting position with her legs spread, he would mount and breed her. Mares would stand for the breedings more than willingly.

  • Way back when, before artificial isemination and commercial, syndicated horses were common, stallions were trained to be polite. Stallions were trained to "say hi" on opposite sides of a wall, then when the "teasing" was positive, the mare and stallion would be prepared to be bred. Handlers were very good at detecting approaching ovulations, and experienced stallions knew too.

  • For the sake of protection, sure, breeding hobbles are fine to use, and sometimes a twitch might need application. But, even mares in FULL BLOWN HEAT are forced to submit to breedings by an out of control stallion, which is SCARY. So a twitch helps take her mind off it, and the hobbles prevent her kicking the stallion.

  • I notice more and more with "in hand" breedings that the live cover is not very natural...I have been an avid horsewoman for over 30 years. In hand breedings in my opinion should allow for the stallion and mare to "meet" face to face..the stallions excited whinneys and snortings will excite a mare that is ready, and she will pose very little threat to him if he minds his manners.

  • this sunday silence, one of his last stud seasson

  • 好快搞掂

  • "so quick"

  • This is in no way cruelty, "rape" or anything of that sort. This is a valuable mare, who is obviously in heat, being bred to a very valuable TB stud. The foal is not "watching his mother being raped". This would occur naturally as a mare comes back into heat post-foaling in order to ensure that she has a foal in the coming year at the correct oflaing time (ie not the hot summer months or cold winter months).

  • well said

  • Oh yes, hobbles are natural. Anyways. If they Really had 'all that money' AI would be a Simple and affordable thing to do, and far more efficent. :)

  • It's a shame AI is illegal for Jockey Club TB's. Any horse to be registered JC MUST have been concieved by live cover. And I would much rather see a mare hobbled than see her accidentally kick the stud and kill him. Again, these animals are far too expensive to take those kinds of chances.

  • Poor foal separated from his mother.

  • he isn't separated he is about 3 meters away from her! lol

  • Does that stallion handler not know what he/she is doing?

  • nice

  • This is probably taking place at the "Shadai Farm" in Japan. The horse is HEARTS CRY, sired by SUNDAY SILENCE (and the BMS is TONY BIN). He ran in Japan till 2005 and then won the "Dubai Sheema Classic". You might know him from the 2006 King George Ⅵ when he finished 3rd from HURRICANE RUN. Also joined by ELECTROCUTIONIST, it was a great race! Sorry I don't know who the mare is. Anyway, this is his first year in stud. Good luck!

  • Omg is that the mares foal I saw, poor foal having to watch his mother get raped like that...

  • Poor foal in the background.

  • are any of these horses famous? it kind of looks like a horse i just saw in a video and this was in the related videos section so it made me wonder

  • yes...the mare should have about a month-month and a half break b4 breeding again after giving birth

  • Sometimes a mares heat will go off after her foal heat. If this mare is to have another foal for the next foaling season they will breed her. This makes sure she will have the foal on the next foaling season and not say in the middle of the summer fly season.

  • thats not fair for the mare. ur basically raping the mare by having her legs tied, her face twitched, and just a week or two after she gave birth. u ppl should be ashamed. giv her a break. mare's also serve another purpose besides being bred, like, o idk, being ridden!

  • Or maybe just being a normal loved pet, like animals people own should be, this Really sickens me.

  • The hobbles (leg ties) are necessary in this case, BECAUSE these are thoroughbred horses and the Thoroughbred Association rules state that all thoroughbred mares must be 'personally serviced' if you will, by the stallion. This being the case, they hobble the mare so that she doesn't kick the stallion in the genitals and ruin him. These horses are literally worth millions, they've proven themselves athletes, now their jobs are to reproduce themselves. Racing IS an industry.

  • I agree with you about the twitching. It's poor horsemanship, and causes a lot of behavioral issues. I didn't like the stallion handler either. Although, mares are ready to breed nine or so days after foaling and people breed them on their "foal heat" for numerous reasons. This mares colt is at least a month old. I bred one of my mares on her foal heat this year, because she foaled late. It wasn't cruel - she would have been bred in the wild on her foal heat.

  • My mare will also be ridden lightly to keep her in shape so she has an easy pregnancy, and eventually an easy birth. She was also in excellent condition so breeding her on her foal heat isn't straining her. I love this mare as well as all of my horses, and they ARE ridden and loved. When horses have performed and proven themselves, they are then reproduced, and they can still be loved. Cruelty is rampant, but aside from the twitching, this is not a case of it.

  • Don't fret over these comments, people comment without knowing a thing about horses or breeding them. They don't realize that the mares are confirmed receptive, or that they can you know, walk forward in hobbles.. and of course, it isn't their millions of dollars on the line ;)

  • Exactly, industries make animals into tools, not animals anymore, you just repeated the point that if there is money involved abuse is fine, that's -my- point behind hating this.

  • Some people would say being ridden and forced to bear a rider is just as bad and a form of cruelty. Saddles, bits, bridles are equipment used to help keep a rider safe while riding. Twitch, hobbles, and guiding the stallion all help to try and protect both animals during the breeding process.

  • Idiot, have you ever seen a person thrown off a horse? EXACTLY. It's not even similar. Besides, the baby wouldn't be picking up on anything negative and freaking out so bad if nothing was wrong with this.
