  • Its definitely the brief simplified version, but it is a pretty good sum up in only 90 seconds.

  • so who has the master key to all your shit once its on there????

  • I WANT ONE!!

  • "Cloud" is overrated. It's just online storage of your shit...

  • I wonder what the server owners DO with all that freely uploaded information.

  • thats the worst description of what a cloud is lol

wasted one min building up to it and still didnt really explain it properly

  • @paulabel1 cloud computing is awesome... however this video gets it all wrong, and oversimplifies the idea to the point where someone would think the internet is the cloud.

  • i seen the Jimi Hendrix Experince

  • Clouds -- get ready to store all my porn!

  • thumbs up if you were expecting cloud computing to be cubic equations and imaginary numbers with square roots and logarithms and cosines, all working out millions of unknowns at the same time...

  • I AM THE HITLER OF TOMMOROW.

  • @REPCLONE TOMORROW

  • @REPCLONE sup :\

  • I wouldn't be so quick to trust this sort of thing. The United States government can demand to see everything in any server in the US at any time since 9/11. Do you really want others to have even the possibility of seeing all your personal information and files? Most of us don't have anything to hide, but as much as cloud computing will make things more convenient, it will definitely mean some major privacy issues.

  • @McTaggStar Then don't put your private stuffs in there.

  • @William102582: Wow, thanks for the great suggestion, Tip!

  • This is stupid. All you have to do is buy a CD burner and attach it to your PC. Then copy all your personal and financial files to a CD. Next, rent a safety deposit box at a bank, and stash the CD in there. Or stash it in your basement. Do this every few months, and your data will be safe. YOU DON'T NEED THIS HOKEY "CLOUD" SYSTEM.

  • @abingdon66 CD only has 700mb of storage that's not even 1 lousy movie.

  • @William102582

Then use 2 or 3 CDs or DVDs. The point is that you don't have to use somebody else's "cloud server".

  • I wouldn't say it's because the PC is running out of room, because it's very cheap now to buy terabytes of storage. Cloud computing just makes it easier to manage, available anywhere with wifi, and more secure.

  • I don't want my personal and financial information on somebody else's computers.

  • @abingdon66 neither do i mate, hope they dont force use to use this...

  • yeah.. am not wrong, it's NATGEO's video.. but w8! how it's related to cloud computing, the future of computer technology? should we find a tiger or a tiny leaf in the sky?

  • that's not really what cloud computing is ....

  • @spoddie so... what is it?

  • that wasnt 90 secs that was a minute 30... trollin

  • Those "corporate masters" pay your paycheck, insurance and benefits while taking all the risks to run a business and find you work so you don't have to. Oh, and without us, good luck buying toys.

  • The only cloud is the one in people's heads that buy this crap while ignoring the degradation and eventual end of the freedom to experience and enjoy life brought to us by our corporate masters.Be happy with your electronic toys. Its the most happiness that the majority of you will ever achieve

  • This isn't particularly helpful when you have a crappy Internet connection like mine. 150KB/sec download, 30KB/sec upload... Yeah, not happening. I have over 1TB of space anyway; not to mention other hard drives I could use and various other computers all together...

  • cloud computer when thats full there will be Space computer !

  • Available wherever books are sold

    ROFL

  • With HDDs going for $50 a terabyte and dropping, I'll keep all of my personal data, and backups, right here where I *know* it's all secure, and I *know* Big Brother isn't harvesting it all.

I trust Google about as far as I can throw them these days.

  • @anmoose <yeah what he said. 6tbs on my pc. I make my own cloud.

  • Google and big brother want your personal data too.

  • Nowadays there are so many "cloud" services like these...

  • Cloud Computing? ITS FUCKING CALLED HOSTING

  • so what's cloud computing though?

  • @Ramsez broadly speaking, computing power sold as a service a la electricity. measured in something like cpu cycles per minute/hour/etc. most ordinary consumers don't realize it but amazon has been a pioneer and leader in the field. cloud computing and virtualization (another newfangled buzzword) is allowing for a lot of interesting stuff, such as for private corporations to eliminate the costs of building, staffing and maintaining massive data centers.

  • @WinterXL lol i know that, just pointing out the video doesnt mention it

  • Cloud computing is not just Google, Amazon, Microsoft, enter your "evil corporation". Private clouds are being built all over the world.

@WinterXL NG would be better off if they posted your comment instead of this flashy, simplistic and misleading video.

End of comment. We now return to NationalGeographic, edited for rednecks.

  • Cloud Computing = Big Brother

  • I just hope none of my porn is saved on the cloud!

  • And what happens when the cloud processors reach their limitations?

  • i nkow what cloud im on,, cloud 9

  • why am i hearing so much about clouds the last few days? somethin's goin' down i tell ye

  • Please cut the crap and stop blocking 90% of your videos in Canada, please and thanks.

  • @SnapshotOfASoul you mad bro?

  • @jjtheslayer69 Nah. Proxies help me.

  • NWO anyone?

  • Clouds it's not only Storage-as-a-Service

  • cut the crap u can hit 60 secs

  • Knowledge is power and they want your knowledge.

  • this cloud has sooo much to go wrong , people are jumping in on this with everything they have , please be careful people !! i love technology , but when i see how people are became dependent on technology is alarming , we are not using are brains anymore , test .> how many number do you remember from your contacts on your phone ? < .

  • @saknk1 technology and innovation is going forward...there is no stopping it

  • @MoRgUe27 , yes i agree , but the entire world is getting into something that nobody have control , i work whit computers and i see how desperate people get when hard drive from they computers fail and they lose all , the internet with no law is just a country with no law , lets just rope for the best !! :) .. i'm all for technology !!!

  • @saknk1 Tedtalks already did a video on that,.. so we don't need to think about it

  • I herd there are these things called external hard drives...

  • Naaha ... I prefer to have it all in just 1 click away, thank you very much.

  • FIRST - - - - - - - - DERP

  • i thought he is going to count all the clouds will pass in 90 seconds :(

  • DAM NATURE, YO- oh wait...

  • @TheRiCkJaMeS182 very good

  • wouldnt it be easier to just add another HD instead of wasting bandwith?

  • I actually cares, a lot.

  • I CARE!

  • who care xD

  • firs - oh wait i have a life

  • @ChangeTheirMinds plus you are a quite a bit from being first
