  • do you treat the wood after at all to prevent cracking? I have read that some people boil in salt water... thoughts?

  • @adacosta1000

I never have a problem with cracking. Just oil it when dry.

  • Do you finish the wood at all, or leave it natural? I may have missed it, but what kind of wood do you use? Do you use the same for all/most of your stuff? Nice work!

  • wierdest song i ever did hear, but nice ladle my friend

  • omg this will help me @ my next talent show i love ladles 4 no gud reason !!!

  • lovely work.

Does the wood need to be fresh from the tree for making ladles ect?

  • Thanks for the comment. It does not have to be, but it is easier to work with.

  • I was wondering whether the ladle includes the pith of the handle (branch)? or do you shave it away. In early images in the video, the knot where the branch comes into the trunk is visible, is it there in the finished piece? Great work, thanks for posting it

  • Thanks for your comment. There are probably arguments for and against not having the pith in the finished item. Generally you would exclude it. It depends what you want to achieve as a finished item.

  • Bygonetoni,

Sir, I have enjoyed all of your videos. That type of hand craftsmanship is all but disappearing, both in Europe and the United States. Thank you for sharing your passion and skills with us.

BTW I really like the little touch of the hanging hook on the end.

One last question if I may. Would you be so kind as to identify the music playing on this video? I would appreciate it very much.

I would also like to link to your main page, if you don't mind.

    Regards,

    Albert A Rasch
