  • cold air makes cars happy

  • sick

  • Damn thats pretty quick. Is your B16 stock?

  • Yeah. Just a header, exhaust, and cold air intake in this vid. I recently put a turbo on the car, but its not tuned or anything so I'm not running any boost right now

  • @91SiDerek yeah i saw that video right after i posted this comment. It sounds beastly. Ive got a crx and im thinking about swapping in a B16, did the swap go fairly easy for your civic? And tips or services youd recommend? Im new to the swap thing. I ve read a lot just havnt talked to anyone whos done it

  • Yeah, it was pretty easy. You have to make a dent in the frame where the alternator goes, or the B16 one will rub. I didn't make my dent big enough so it still rubbed. I had to pull the alternator and make the dent bigger, and it was a real pain with the motor in the car. Buy "Honda Engine Swaps" book from Autozone... it helps a lot. Your best bet is to go with obd1, because obd0 sucks.

  • @91SiDerek Whys it suck tho? Cause my CRX is OBD0 and i found a B16 with OBD0 from the CRX Si from japan, doesnt that make the swap go easier since you dont have to really change the ECU or anything? Yeah i saw that book wasnt sure if it was something to go by but im glad you suggest it ill see if i can pick it up this weekend. Itll probably answer a lot of my questions. lol i wont put them all on you

  • Its complicated, but I have an 02 sensor code that I can't seem to get rid of. My b16 is from a JDM Crx SiR and its obd0. There are two 02 sensors on the back of the stock manifold, but I can't find an aftermarket header with two 02 bungs on it. So I had an extra one welded onto my header so I could run two 02 sensors, but for some reason the car runs like crap when both 02's are hooked up. And I know for a fact that they are wired right. So I just run one 02 sensor and it runs ok

  • @91SiDerek Sounds like one of those things no ones ever gonna bother making easy for us swappers lol. well ive got somethings to look out for when i get the money for it. Thanks for your help dude no ones even bothered to reply i didnt realize so many assholes owned hondas lol if youre ever in LA lets race :D The 405 at midnight is dead empty even the cops race sometimes lol thanks for your help tho im gonna check out that book.

  • @91SiDerek on the stock manifold one o2 reads cyl 1&3 and the other o2 reads 2&4. if your header is a 4-1 it kind of makes it an issue being obd0 with dual o2's. i have a jdm b16 that's obd0 and i have the same problem. so i'm converting to obd1 at the same time i put my header in and just running the single o2 in the collector. if you have a 4-2-1 you should be able to run the o2's correctly and it shouldn't be a problem. hope that helps

  • @ihateballons The easiest bet is to run the stock chipped PM6 ECU with a b16 basemap. Trying to run the JDM ECU with 2 o2 sensors or anything is going to be an enormous headache. Burn the b16 basemap with turboedit and use 100% stock wiring without any changes except the engine and transmission.

  • @91SiDerek

yep, had to make a dent in my crx.
