  • Did it occur to everybody that CBS may have planned on bringing Card Sharks back around the summer? Maybe they were gonna do the same thing they did with The $25,000 Pyramid by bringing it back after Now You See It '89 wrapped. But fate intervened when NBC dropped daytime Wheel and CBS picked it up.

  • @kambreesuncle2 Plausible, but not likely... I think Now You See It was a placeholder of sorts, but had it failed and, assuming that they weren't going to try something new, I think the more likely move would have been to expand Family Feud at that point, or go back to Pyramid again ahead of Card Sharks... Perhaps someone that was around the situation could provide more insight...

  • Obvious question: if they knew at the time of the taping that they were taping the last episode, why did they bother with the plug? Seems like the time would have been better spent running the credits, or maybe having the show staff come out on stage at the end to say goodbye.

  • the pilot for CS01 was shot in 2000

  • It would have been so damned funny when Lacey said "If you want to be a contestant on Card Sharks forget it!"

  • LMAO @ Bob's laugh @ 0:07

  • But if that happened, if Card Sharks decided to stay on the air they decided to move the production to the KFMB Studios in San Diego and will still be on CBS past 1989 (so KFMB along with other CBS Stations including KPIX in my hometown) will air it!

  • It would take more than two questions to determine a win in the maingame or championship round on NYSI89(1000 points won the maingame and words were worth 100 points or less and $1000 won the championship game with values 200-300-400-500-600)

  • They did ticket/contestant plugs on the last week of SUper Password, which aired the week before this week. Maybe there was talk of a syndicated version of Card Sharks for 1990(although seeing the Rafferty syndicated version only lasted a year, probably not) Blockbusters 1987 actually tried to wrangle contestants for Classic Concentration, the show that replaced it on NBC, on the last few weeks of its run.

  • @zachhoran I don't think there was talk for a syndicated version in 1990 for Card Sharks. Wish there was though!

  • I think you meant 2001, not 2000.
