Definitely a skater that gets overscored. While technically sound, he has no grace. Skating should be a combo of both. A skater like Johnny Weir is a much more rounded skater. And who could forget Yagudin...
Relax kids, I didn't say he skated badly. In fact he was very steady and clean (he's always been technically strong anyway). I just think the choreography is uninspiring and he's overscored for what he presented. If any other skater skated the identical program without mistakes, I can guarantee they wouldn't get as high a mark as he did. Just my two cents and please don't bite my head off because I didn't say he's "hot" or "sexy",
This music is about 8 or 9 years behind the curve of "cool". The pointing and head rolls have gotta go. He is the elvis stoiko of today. So unfortunate, at least he hasn't grown a mullet. Yet...
All his programs are lot like that. And when you see others skater with classic music, tango, ... why can't he chose this music for his SP ?
you know it is a SPORTcompetion so yes you need good skating, edges... to have a good score !
If you like Chan, make some good comments in Chan's videos but not here, please. It's always the same, people like you always bashing the ones who can be dangerous for your favourite skaters and never the worst.

spanishthree: It seems that as long as Joubert doesn't miss a jump or flat out fall on his ass, his PCS will be ridiculously high. I don't know what the judges were rewarding in terms of TR and CH scores...they must really like that running-on-the-spot move at 3:14.

this is possibly the most pathetic program i have seen from the mens field in the past 6 years. it is tacky and forced. and the fact that his pcs scores were higher than jeremy abbotts makes me want to bend over and hurl all over these judges. his arm movements/transitions/step sequences/and interpretation lack so much its almost not worth laughing about. this is not an olympic champions program.
Why say that? Just look at their scores, since they were better than those of Czar Plushenko's short program at Cup of Russia. So what you say is unfounded. I advise you to see the program again. Some people, like you, believes he has a great approach when talking about skating and the moment of truth are the least known. You go to the ISU website and watch your broken notes.
This has to be my favorite song/performance he has done in a while

Brian is great - he does have grace - he skates like a man and has his own style - if you want to see a ballerina go watch a different video.

Joubert has got nice program this season, I like it. He needs to work on coreography, and it will be great to see him and Plushenko fighting again.
I am not a fan of Joubert, but I like his costance and his convintion.
