yes i agree gieste, over all the scariest game (in my opinion) is silent hill old school games. another great horror game if anyone remembers is the parasite eve franchise by square CNIX, back then it was squaresoft, the company famous for the final fantasy rpg genre. parasite eve is basically a game that dwelves more into metrocaundria

within your own body. the evil is within yourself. great story lol and it's a really challenging game to say the least.

Ah the suffering. By far my all time favorite ps2 game.

Far better than any Resident Evil i thought. I like the way everything was'nt exactly explained. You could interpret the monsters as tortured demons from hell or the result of bizzare science experiments.

The makers never fill in all the blanks so your own imagination came into play and if you thought about it Torque could be imagining the whole thing from inside his cell the whole time.

After all he killed his own family (or did he?).

problem with resident evil is it's just more of the same zombie killer shit that I've seen in countless movies and previous vid games already. Resident evil is completely original, and has been out since mid 90s, and no its not the same thing, all other zombie games will only be a week immitimidation of resident evil, despite what you say, the story lines are nice, and its not only realistic in looks, but gameplay as well, the suffering is like playen duke nukem, only killing these awkward looking ceatures in the dark with random flashes of visions, cool game, but has a long way to go to reach resident evil standards.

it doesn't do any good to try to compare any of these titles, to put it simply they are all stand alone franchises that are in the same category of horror and yet they offer different blends,

resident evil doesn't really mess with your mind, it just plays tricks old school horror movie style with overwhelming odds and not enough ammo more of a suspense then a flat out horror silent hill builds on the disturbing area of your brain and goes for psycho horror making it more effective longer lasting
