it doesn't look it from the video, but it's amazing how steep and curvy the road is. I remember I was stopped there a few years ago for some road work and standing on that hill facing down is pretty curvey and steep, lots of banked corners and stuff. I never liked paulson either, been over it lots of times in a truck. 5* driving McD.
Another great video mate, looks pretty mean there.
I did the 3 from lethbridge down to Kingsgate, but they never routed us from BC to AB across that way, it was always the coke or the conector, both a pain in the ass in snow!
I'm not a big fan of hwy 3. I've only been as far as Anarchist. Its a scenic drive but not very relaxing and that's in a car, I could'nt imagine a truck.
Dam Doug...you are getting all the white stuff...we have been up to like 18-20 degrees here in Southern Ontario for over a week. Cloudy and chance of rain today but not a hint of that white stuff!!
Oh my God! And if that drive wasn't hairy enough, you had that uber tense music behind it! Eeeeee!!! And those four wheelers zipping around you were giving me coniptions! The views are spectacular, but I think I got a few more gray hairs imagining me going down the side of that mountain! Good grief, if that were me, I'd be creeping along at 5 miles per hour! Five stars and faved, TruckerMcD!!! YOU, Sir, are the consummate professional!!!
Yah, my tail would def be fluffed up from some good ol' fashioned FEAR! Did you have chains on the tires? I've never had to chain my tires, but then again, I've only dealt w/ 33 inches of snow in NJ, PA, DE, MD, NY, and they were mostly flat roads. Sometimes I just say, "Mother Nature, you WIN, and I'll sit this one out"! lol! But you run in areas that have those weather conditions all the time. God Bless, and please, always come home to us!
quite a few trucks here are fitted with the on-spot system and boxes of sand that can put gravel infront of the wheels if you cet into a sticky situation, or more corectly would be to say slippery situation.
but thats just help to get over the last little bit of the hill you almost made without chains.

I couldn't drive in all that snow. It looks horrible! Stay safe!!!!!!!!

This isn't bad! It's all plowed and sanded. Any day you don't have to chain up is a good day.

I think you are asking about tire chains. No chains this time. Mucho gracias

I should have said the whole of the Crowsnest! It's such an absolute pain in the arse (or right foot) when you're under powered like we are.

Oh ya...forgot to ask...what band is this and whats the song called? It kicks some major ass. Love it. Want to look for it and download it!!

The group is Rammstein and the song is Engel Todd. You can probably get it here on YT, or just rip it off of this vid.

No chains this time. The hill wasn't too bad. They were plowing and sanding. Sometimes I say that too. Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.

We are required by law to carry chains from September until April. No sand boxes though
