Ayers was never convicted, and therefore had no time he was required to serve. Legally speaking, Liddy is a criminal and Ayers isn't.

I'm sure you've read the trial transcripts. You've probably also read the letter from the man who prosecuted Ayers to the NY Times saying the connection to Obama the RNC and the McCain camp are trying to make is nonsense.

Actually, legally, it does. He's free to go and live his life become a responsible member of society. And people are free to talk to him and work with him on things like school reform.

And I don't consider the Bill of Rights to be a "technicality".

Well, it's also fair to point out that McCain was on Liddy's radio show LAST YEAR as a Presidential candidate, and he said to Liddy:
